I have never got much satisfaction with using an amp with the X1. Changing IEM's gave me better results. Dual driver IEM's to be specific.

I've been using my X1 with Sennheiser Amperior recently, really happy with the performance. It's my goto casual listening rig when I want to get away from those highly strung balanced armature IEM in my collection.

Ey @JamesFiiO any chance of X1 getting an leather case like the one from X3 ?
I even prefer the the color from the flip case from the X1, although since it's a flip case...IMO It's too impractical to use.
And X1 is thinner than the X3 so probably the X3 case would be too loose for the X1.

And one more thing, any chance of the X1 stickers to be on sale? I crapped the wood one and I would like to get another, you could even sell them in bulk

There is the case by Dignis which is pretty similar, but it's a little expensive IMO.

I'm on the lookout for an amp for my X1. I have an smsl sap4s atm and I want something else. I'm looking at e11k or e12 but I'm a pure IEM user and I'm not sure if the e12 will benefit me much. Thoughts or other options for amp? $100 is roof :/

I don't know what's your opinion on the smsl, but I find the X1's HO to be cleaner.
given the budget and that you will only use IEMs, I honestly believe that you're better off with the X1 alone unless you really feel like those 2ohm are messing with some IEM's FR too much.

Tbh, I'd love to be able to use overear headphones but like I said earlier in this thread, the wife thinks I look like a dork and that I should act my age (still sub 40 though) in cans... I do have a pair of sennheiser pxc250 onear I could wear to let her get used to me as a dork...

Just purchased an X1 from B&H. I wonder if it could topple the HM-601 I own in terms of sound quality. I also hope it'll pair well with my ATH-M50s which is my main headphones at the moment. The M50s and the 601 are a match made in heaven.

According to the official tutorial, one has to use a card formatted to the Fat32 format. I have a 32GB Micro SD card coming in...Sorry for the newbish question but is that card already formatted to the Fat32 format or do I have to format it with the player first?

Thanks.

just google how to format a sd card to fat32. it's not a new  or unique question and you'll have plenty of tutorials for all kind of computers with all kind of OS. there is no trap, it's not difficult and worst case scenario, if it doesn't work, you try again. so don't worry about it.
