Well, I had to sell the SR-207 due to moving on short notice. Pretty bummed about that. Still have the SR-30. Now I'm debating whether to get the SR-407 or SR-507 from PriceJapan. Guess it all depends on my budget for the next month. Can anyone link me to posts comparing the in-production Lambdas? I kind of want to go for the SR-507 because it's so much nicer, with the metal body, leather pads, and sleek black aesthetics, though I know the SR-407 is a better value.

Well...I've altered my plans to not be relevant to this thread anymore. (Next few weeks: HIFIMAN HE6 ; next few months: STAX SR-009.) Probably won't buy any more affordable STAX until I start collecting.

Just gave myself a present, paid USD 720 for a new/just packed out demo STAX SR-507 "earspeaker" from a shop in my close neighborhood here in Oslo.
Price from PJ , after tax and VAT would be more when it would reach me, and in addition I get 5 years full warranty with a retailer 10 minutes walk from home!
And could try it out before paying!
I have been thinking about this some time, and this afternoon I caved in.
I have some dynamic systems to compare with, also a "baby" STAX and a Senn HE60, just now using the 507 and comparing with an old beyerdynamic DT880 on a set of HeadRoom Overture and Coda.
They are different!
Both have their qualities.
I could have used either of these two setups if I could not have both!

Which baby STAX? I have an SR-30.

Also, if you ever decide to sell your HE 60 in the future, PM me!

Is there a huge difference between a SRM 252S and a SRM 323S?

The "baby" stax seems really nice !

And I got another question : Is there any usefull upgrade or mod for the SR207 ? Like replacing ear pads with EP-507 is usefull?

There is reportedly a significant difference in sound between them, but more noticeable with higher-end electrostats. When I owned an SR-207, I didn't think getting an SRM-323S would make any sense until after getting the SR-009.

The pads become more comfortable, naturally, and it may or may not sound better to you.

The small Stax amp is very nice.

The bigger 323S potentially has better bass slam and dynamics and delivers more power to the phones.

The differences are only apparent on the more demanding phones such as the 009, on smaller phones like the 001/003 if it is not really apparent.
The 252S will drive the 009 but not too loudly.

I have both of the amps.

Ok, so the SRS-2170 is a good value choice, and if I want to upgrade it will be the SR-207 and not the SRM 252S. Thanks you.

I was seeking vidéos of the SRS-002 and SR-001 mk2 + SRM-001, but hey they seem to be realllly unusual.

Is there any date for the SRS-002 MK2, the portable amp and  the portable amp+DAC presented at CES 2014 ?

Is it this one? http://www.pricejapan.com/front/e_good_info.php?code=1290&category=10
I can't find anything else and it seems to be the first version.

" And really not a "on-the-go" set of headphones! "

Why so?
Personnally if I take one of them I will not really walk with them, mostly in a calm and comfy bus every morning and night. Or between two hours at school. Almost never walking with them.

Is there some feedback about the comfort of the v2?
