I just did it. I actually edited the song so as to make sure I could time the beginning and the end properly.
I did not detect anything missing at the beginning but got 2 seconds clipped at the end of the song, not good.

Does this occur only when gapless isn't enabled, or does it happen no matter what?

Not affected by gapless setting, first thing tried.

Ah, that's a bit of a downer.

I'm just wondering if size of embedded art, or something trivial like that could be cause if it preloads the following file during the last few seconds?
Cannot see any recommended size though and I would have thought iBasso looked into it if it persisted in DX50.

Has there ever been a comment from them on this? I was quite amazed to hear it had been happening for many for so long. Would like more than 99% of a song really.

I've just noticed the end clipping issue for the first time :frowning2:

And if you look at the counter it's there in black and white. I didn't think I had problem at first but then albums must have had a fade or extra silence at end. What IS strange is that Jamato and others haven't reported it which is intriguing? Maybe not all units?

I wouldn't normally ever suggest such a thing, but, purely in the interests of science / troubleshooting, it may be worth swapping a file or 2 between someone who doesn't have this issue and someone who does, so that we can know, once and for all, if the issue is caused by some weird file format or tag issue, or if it is a difference amongst the players.

thanks

Yeah, the pairing is very nice, even better than running the RE-400s balanced from the HM-700.

I just did a quick check on the clipping issue. Looks like it only happens if you play the album by browsing the database. When I browse it by directory and play from there. It doesn't seem to clip anymore.

I have only used browsing by directory all this while and I do not experience the missing bit thus far.

I'll try those continuous album from database and see if clipping occurs.
