Thanks! So there's someone hope of getting it to work. I'll test it as soon as my dx90 arrives (I got a good deal from an Asian EBay seller).

I wonder, with a new model upcoming, has the development of the DX90's firmware been stopped or are we to expect further updates for this player?

Thanks!

Somewhere in one of the DX90 threads, @Paul-iBasso said that the DX90 would continue to be supported but there was no time frame for when the next FW update would be released.

I do not know if this has been up here before, but does the line out on the DX90 change sound sig when switching between firmwares? I assume it does but wanted to know for sure.

I think I read where someone modded Rockbox to only use one cpu core and disable the other for better battery life?  If so mind sending me the source code changes so I can patch mine the same?  I have a few other custom code changes on mine so I will have to do a merge, hopefully it wasn't a huge change?

One issue remaining for me is after say an hour of listening i get very quiet crackling pop sounds throughout the song until I fully power down and re-power the device.  Anyone else experience this and know the cause?  This is using Rockbox.

Took 3 months but finally got my DX90 back from power supply and output amp modding in Russia.  Finally has lost the muddy bass it had before and seems to have a bit more clarity and punch all around.

Have you tried it without Rockbox? Maybe when the modification was done not everything got grounded. ?

Anybody know where to find the version of rock box that looks like the iPod Ui?

It's not about the Rockbox Version, its just Themes that you install for Rockbox.
http://themes.rockbox.org/index.php?target=cowond2

There you go. The Cowon D2 Themes all work perfectly with the DX90. I guess what you are looking for,
is the "Basta" Theme, which i also use, only with a different set of icons. But thats optional.

I bought mine in a Samsung Official Store... Around 22€.

Didn't want to start messing up with pseudo-fakes in which you finally end up paying twice.
