Guys I'm on the fence on buying a WM1Z or a WM1A to try on my upcoming Z1R and to have a nice DAP for just local files too.

So, my question is: is a NP modfied WM1A equivalent (internally and in terms of SQ) to a stock WM1Z ?

I ask this because if I decide to have it modified, I'm not sure if the 1Z would really be worth 2x more than the 1A ?

Does anyone here ever done this comparison (modified 1A vs stock 1Z) ?

I have both the 1A and IER-Z1R, and the pairing is awesome!

Also the battery life is great.

That's what i want to know, and asked stevw for prixong. But based on what @nc8000 told me that his mod back then in 2020 costed anout £500-700, i think so between £700-900

HELL YEAH!! making the right choices buddy, make sure to go Bright+J3+pm2+gain=1+dac=1 after, it's the best combo for the modded 1a

I prefer WM1Z, J3, PlusV2, Alt dac though Bright might be best for him given he also has a Z1

I was thinking new price and if you already have the 1A the mod price is less than the used price for the 1Z. But I believe a modded 1A is better than an unmoddef 1Z
