Use tape, a tshirt, a hankerchief ....or something. I want my pretty sparkling lights.

Peep this industrial strength velco. I used this just today to attach the ODAC to the O2. It's really strong stuff but not bulky.

Obviously this brand doesn't just offer it in circles. I've used it before to attach various portable amps to DAPs.

I prefer LEDs to tell me how my amp is doing (battery-wise)...
I'd like my Hifi-M8 indicator light to double as a laser pointer, please. Thanks!

This thread is awfully long, I tried to get through most of it but two basic questions:
1) Can you still pre-order it?
2) When does the M8 actually come out?
Sorry if these questions have been re-hashed several thousand times.

1) It seems people are still getting in. Email them.
2) Still shooting for Q1 release at last update.
For official info, look for Mgoodman posts or go to the Hifi-M8 blog.

Am leaning towards a transportable home setup so not tied to desktop. Apple Lightning connectivity is a must. Good to read a higher capacity battery is being investigated

Sorry if this has been answered already..(just started reading through all this and the blog)
But will the DAC play nice with all generations of iPod? For example, I remember reading somewhere that the Fostex hp-p1 didn't work with the 5th generation video.
I am thinking to mostly use this with my 7G iPod, but it would be nice if the 5G worked as well. Icing on the awesome tech cake.

Probably not. IIRC the 5G (and older generations) can't do USB Audio so you're out of luck.

Did you PM Michael Goodman? I think he mentioned somewhere that he is away on business. You should try emailing HiFi-M8@centrance.com and tell them you are a member at head-fi. Should be able to get hold of a team member there.
