guys and gals, an opinion,

i have a 2003 tsport black celica and im after [as i said before] new wheels, [one is broken]

the stock ones are nothing special and arent cheap or expensive, it will only be 17" [anything bigger is too much] it will mean however that i have 2 non matching sets

was looking at black with redline

my car with current wheels

possible wheels

but i have no idea how it will REALLY look

honest [and if needs be, harsh] opinions wanted!

Focus on finding wheels that are actually lighter than the stock ones. Do a Tire Rack query with your car as they have a tool that actually lets you see the rims on your car as they'd appear.

agreed, definitely look for wheels that are lighter than stock. i'm somewhat unhappy with the stock 19" wheels on my m3 mainly due to the weight and harsher ride quality. 19" wheels on this car have no real purpose, imo, other than for looks. 18" wheels can fit most big brake kits. as for me, i'm thinking about 17" TR (Tire Rack) Motorsport MT1 wheels. 18lbs for the MT1 vs 29lbs for the 19" stocks. that's a lot of weight.

just stumbled onto this thread wile poking around the forum. I have a few project cars on the go a 1987 mote carlo ss and a 1985 corrolla gts that belonged to the local race track in my town. The monte carlo is a long term project as I would like to upgrade the suspention to a hotchkis setup I have seen and would like to ditch the carburated 350 it has now. The corolla is an old race car and I am looking at getting it race ready again as it was in a wreck so I was able to pick it up for cheap. nice to see a car-fi thread and I will post back later with some pics.
