The change is very easy. I have done it numerous times with mine. It basically comes down to taking the 8 end screws out, opening the unit like a book, remove the needed HD movement pieces, slide the HD back and up, and reverse steps to put back together.

I certainly hope this is not considered bad form (linking to another forum), but you should find the need infromation in the below area. There is a sticky for HD upgrades.
H1xx Specific Mods

iriver H1xx Series (H110, H115. H120, H140)

the only thing that stop me for doing the upgrade is the ridiculous pricing of the 1.8 HD 120G for 190USD. almost the price to buy a IPC which has the 120G HD inside. maybe I will go for the 80G or 60G which pricing around 100.

My suggestions are:

DYI-mod iPod Mini 2 gen > TTVJ Millet Portable > Yuin OK1

or

DYI-mod iPod Mini 2 gen > XIN Supermicro IV 4/11 > ER-4S OFC recabled & custom tipped

I did not hear DYI-mod Mini yet, but I beleive it sounds better than Mini. And I consider stock Mini as superior to: Classic, 5G, Nanos, Sansas, Cowon D2.
