I just got my monos. I have only listened to help and revolver, but I am loving it so far. Here, There, and Everywhere is much better with the mono mix. It is beautiful.
Amazon.com as well as Amazon.ca have the 2nd pressing of the Mono Box Set available now for pre-order. Amazon.com has it for $229.99, and Amazon.ca is $259.99. If you are in Canada, I would still suggest calling any HMV stores nearby and see if they have any left.

BTW, I just listened to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" in mono. I don' know how the hell anyone could think it sounds better. Sounds awful to me.
Price watch: Stereo box now $179 from Amazon.
Will these be the same as the initial release or will packaging vary?
I recieved my copies of Abbey Road and Let it Be last night from Amazon. The price had gone down since I pre-ordered so I got charged less than I thought i would be. I'm still waiting on the mono box from Amazon but it has shipped, hopefully I will received it tonight.
So far I'm really liking AR and LIB, the sound quality is excellent. Definitely an improvement over the 1987 cds. It sounds cleaner to me, with more bottom end and the guitars just sound more natural and guitar like. I can't wait to hear the monos.
I was impressed and amazed at how different it was. It was almost like listening for the first time again and I suppose it was. Yes, there were a lot of details that I previously hadn't recalled hearing. There were a few songs I would say I prefer the stereo. Only some serious listening sessions will make me decide which I prefer, but what a fun time it will be. ahhhhh so much music to devour.
