ESW9? it's warm, not sure consider basshead phone, but definitely the heaviest bass among phones i have. I'm surprised Senn phones are not here.

Added, the graphs looks good

I'll go and do a bit of research on the Sennheisers, looking at HD6xx, HD5xx, HD25, HD438 right now

Add HD228.

I think HD238 and HD448 deserve more on the balance booth. Let me know what you think.

I know they are not exactly high end but :D

I haven't heard the HD238 but the HD448 doesn't sound bassy at all so they are definitely not bass can material. That new Philips Fidelio L1 looks interesting though. They were described as having "Deep strong bass" and the best headphone Philips made. The Monitor 10 was liked a many HeadFi'ers so the new pair should be exciting. I'll add the Philips to the Links

No = HD600
Yes = HD 25-SP II, HD 25-1 II
Not sure about = ATHESW9? (Having tried them they are pretty even in the midrange through the sub-bass range.  They're warm for sure but lack the visceral oomph for what I would describe as Basshead cans.)
Never tried = HD 5xx, HD 438, HD 650

I can agree with this. Also add the HD 25-13 II. 600 Ohm big brother of the 25-1

Hi guys!! Can I join the club!!!

I'm not a big fan of bass, and am quite allergic to them. Overexposure to heightened bass for a moderate period of time makes me sick....

But somehow..  I own (or owned) the Sony XB700..  the Thinksound ts02 and aiaiai tracks. And more recently purchased the Ultrasone Edition 8s.

They're  all..    BASSY!!!

hmmmm  bass

Agreed. If the ATH-ESW9 is anything like the ATH-ESW10JPN, then it has a warm sound but it's not powerful. The ES7 would be more basshead powerful with some EQ.

I never heard the HD438, but the HD5XX is not basshead. The HD650 has a warm FR like the ESW9, but it would be misleading to label it as basshead IMO.

What do bassheads think of VMODA M80/V80s? Any comparisons to Phiaton MS400?

Also, anyone have any idea how the Ultrasone HFi 580s/780s stack up to MS400s?

In case you couldn't tell I have MS400s currently and am trying to make a decision about my next cans. I want good isolation, better highs, sub-bass and sound separation, and less warmth than the MS400.

The best budget IEM for bass, and I mean BASS. JVC ha-fx1x. They make MEELEC M6,M9,M11 and Soundmagic E10 sound lifeless [in terms of bass]. Huge impact and can be had for <$20. It is also better than vanilla turbines (bass impact of course).
Great fit and easy to drive.

I haven't heard too much on those, but I believe that they deliver in the bass category. What I'm concerned about is the overall sound quality as many lower end in ears are tuned to be very bass heavy while greatly sacrificing other areas of the spectrum, resulting in a muddy and veiled sound.

The HD438 is a very warm headphone. It's not overly bassy... so I don't know if it counts as a basshead headphone.
They do well with a slight equalisation of the highs, and dolby headphone plugin. Perfect club-music headphone imo.

After spending nearly 3 month with my Ultrasone PRO550, I think I should get an upgrade, the bass impact was just not there for me. The PRO550 have caused me to completely lose faith in full-sized headphones because my slightly cheaper Turbines makes everything so much better except for lacking slightly detail and a smaller soundstage. Bass wise, I dont really feel the difference between an IEM and full sized can, so I think I'll be fine with IEMs until I can get my hands on a MTX jackhammer. I think something like the upcoming DUNU customs has the potential to be my next upgrade. I think I'll go amp and DAC free and stick with iPod for now. I feel with my next upgrade I'll need something thats in the level of the customs with a bass that extends deep. Any suggestions ? Nothing has been decided so far so anything will help out a lot.
