dont shoot me but right out the box and even with fiio e12 bass boost I am a tad underwhelmed by the bass slam of the th600
. It is a very clean hit and a dope soundstage though. It was funny my wife said they had no bass. I wont go that far but hey its all good. They have a really good sound... I can dig it.

Compared to most of the headphones in that price bracket, they have a decent quantity of bass.
What source were you using? It definitely seems odd that someone would claim the TH600 to have "no bass".

I heard the Yamaha Pro 500 v.s. the Ultrasone Pro 900 today and the sz of course. again.
Probably my 3 favorite impact cans. I'm staying with what I got.
Fostex and Denon and DX1000 are well crafted big cupped low end resonating beauties. They are Audiophile low end beauties. I'll get one sometime.
I need slamalicious boom boom right now and I'm set.
Yamaha Pro 500 = M100 sig with bass on steroids
Ultra Pro 900 = Ultra Hfi 580 with big upper bass low mid impact.
SZ = My cans.

I have a 7 hour flight home tomorrow, but that doesn't matter because I have this:
Every time I see a list like that I get reminded that there's a ton of basshead headphones that I want to hear
Today I was in a Sony store looking for a '42inch LED TV when I stumbled upon a couple of headphones available for demo. I tried a headphone that actually sounded good with nice impact. I'm not sure what it's name was, but it looked like an Xb900/800 with brown pads and headband. They were also uber comfortable.

No they were Sonies. I just found out their model: it's the Sony Xb600.

Those are the 900's.....you don't want those. Sony is a company in big financial trouble. The quality of these is unbelievably poor. I never saw brown.

Fwiw the th600 prob won't satisfy you in impact. Actually I'm sure it won't cause it didn't satisfy me. The dx700 which has the same driver hits way harder with better height in soundstage but is very outclassed by the th600 because the Jvc dx700 is murky and the 600 clear. That being said you would most likely like the th900 and dx1000 since they reportedly hit harder than their little brothers.
