Isolation isn't an issue if you change over to HM5 pads

Agreed, but I preferred the comfort of the stock pads. Even though they are closed back, they walk the fine line between sounding open and closed.

They aren't meant to be taken around in public, they don't fold, don't have a storage case etc - so I don't really consider the lack of isolation to be an issue with them, in my books.

And mids? I don't understand why this is constantly such a contentious issue. Just to clear up any misconceptions for anyone lurking/reading the thread: The TH600 mids are fine to my ears. I prefer the mids of these to most other cans in the "basshead" world, personally.

They are also very comfortable, which is worth a lot to me.

I do like the mids and they're also fine by me. I use mine mostly as my portable so that extra isolation the HM5 pads provides helps. I bought a case which fits them in so I'm sorted. I'm not going to compromise on sound quality just because I get weird looks. If I can carry around the best headphones I can with me, I'll do that regardless if its considered a portable or not. Its closed, it isolates OK, doesn't disturb people  on the train and I've got on ear a tune giving me goosebumps, I don't really care about anything else.

Unless folks say what they are listening to, (music file)  How they are listening to it and which if any eq/slope adjustments that are standard for them and of course the source. A Cowon and effects v.s. an ipod is night and day...night and ******* day. I own em' both and it is a big difference for all cans. Ipods suck. <<<Now I'm hating.....oh well...my opinion

anyway...if folks are gonna rip or raise cans they need to say what and how they are doing it so somebodydoesn't dive into this thread...see a comment and make a big decision based on a small unexplained opinion .

Thanks for the rep

I keep my default setting right in my sig. Less some A.D.H.D riddled moron says "I didn't hear that"...no...you did if you listened like I did.

If folks wanna say can "A" has none/not enough/too much____ they really should let folks know exactly how they got to that conclusion so we can test, nod knowingly or flame them until they are the black stuff you scrape off burnt toast

Anyone randomly have your vision shake or feel the bass in your chest?

I have both happen all the time ._.

Saw this emoticon in another thread, perfect for the bassheads' end game.

Anyone tried Fostex TH-600's before and after sub-bass/bass modding ? if they are great out the box I just wonder how totally amazing they'd be after more sub/bass extension.

So I'm at Best Buy looking at the new beats headphones, and a Beats representative comes up to me, that doesn't even work at the store, and says, "first you need to take off those jbl's" I didn't say anything, but to be honest I think their headphones sound like ***

Haven't heard the new ones, but I can't believe someone would say that to you. They don't have the right.

I wouldn't consider his fabrications harmful (misinformation is only dangerous if convincing, and he is not convincing). Not trying to give him credibility, but he does own the HA-MR55X (removed link!). Judging from how he posts pics of his new cans religiously (he is apparently very religious), he most likely never owned the MR77X. As someone who was raised as a Christian, I forgive you @NewWaveAudio if you ever lied to us. If we were wrong, please forgive us, but you had better lawyer up.

In other news, it seems that my JVC HA-SZ2000 is stuck in US customs.

I don't know when I'll be able to get a better amp than my Fiio E5. I got it because I only ever owned in-ears $30 below. And last December, the Fiio E12 went down from $129 to $89, E17 from $139 to $89, and E07k from $89 to $59. I couldn't make myself buy one now after seeing them much cheaper before.

Can you copy paste that sub-bass eq post in this thread? I think every basshead would appreciate that a lot. I thought it was awesome.

And...the amp. You seem to have nailed down a way to raise the low end already Can you put the e5 9inline between the PC and the headphones to boost that slope (I dunno the e5)

at least they are in America...the sz I mean.
