@ warubozu: And your W2002 is a keeper, too?

And which is your favourite AT beside the L3000?

Yes, all of my vintage AT woodies are keepers. Besides the L3000 the other woodies I do enjoy the most are the W10LTD and W11R. All of the other vintage woodies have a unique sound and all are enjoyable to listen to and look at.

If I had 1300e I would be ordering one pair of W3000ANV right now. Unfortunatelly I dont have such money (eventhough I am looking for some ways to get some, I am thinking of selling my coin collection or asking my parents for a loan), so I hope there wont be many ppl buying these beauties before I get them :)

btw, for which genre would you not recommend those L3000? They seems kinda special, so I can imagine them having some kinda of downfall in one way or another...

I didn't like listening to metal on my L3000, not that it has any flaws or anything. I just felt that the sound was a bit too forward and sibilant at times for me while listening to metal.

I generally found L3000 did rock better than other things but did everything well. Just ended up finding it too dark

I might consider getting the W3000ANV if I can audition one and if it's sound signature is near the L3000 or better. The W3000ANV's limited edition status and it's Urushi finish hasn't spurred me to pull the trigger since I already own the W11JPN and W2002 both which are limited edition and both have an Urushi finish.

I can highly recommend auditioning them.

Sure they are.

The W10LTD was one of the biggest disappointments ever... (But I will try it again sooner or later )  The W11R is the most "extrem" AT, that I heard until now. It truly shines on a few recordings, but the rest is absolute unenjoyable.

Yeah, it's true that the AT woodies aren't for everyone. I wouldn't say that the W10LTD were a big disappointment, I like it's sound signature for what I listen to. Many don't like their sound and that's understandable, but when paired with the right amp it will shine and I don't find them that bad.

AT Woodies generally sounds very smooth, which are not the type to stand out a lot on first listen.

I don't think the W10LTD is a disappointment. I think it's one of the better woodies, actually! It's certainly one of the most neutral sounding, enough to differentiate it from the rest of the herd somewhat.

Many of these headphones are HUGELY amp dependent. The W10LTD, W11R, W2002. Moreso than just about any other low impedance dynamic headphones I've used. Not achieving the right synergy makes them very unenjoyable to listen to, but in the right setup they truly shine imho.

Just looking at the specs, the D-HA3000 is inferior to the HA-5000. I don't doubt the D-HA3000 will be good, but it is had to beat the HA-5000, where it nearly provide 10 times more current.
