Old with new HD650 story is the difference between worn out and new pads, Senns also started stuffing them with firmer foam which adds more treble sparkle.

Interesting, that graph there definitely tells a different story with the improved treble after the new pads installed. This may also somewhat explain why the 2 pairs of different pads I have for my HD600's. One pair is very soft, quite comfortable and as soon as I put it on the pads hug onto my head. The current pair of pads I'am using are bit more firm and harder. It's the difference of foam vs feathers. I prefer the firm one.

This is just ridiculous if it is not a mistake.no way an lcd2 worth that much imo.i would place an lcd2 below hd800 and jh13 soundwise.......its not even close.i was bummed when i paid 995$ + shipping a year ago for it after i heard what it had to offer, so over $1k is way over the top.

I'm a big fan of the LCD2's and I'm gonna own another one as soon as I can. But no way am I paying the new full price. I'm sure they must have their reasons. Maybe the Rosewood is really becoming scarce and expensive.
This will only make it an easier decision to get the HE500's for peeps first taste of high end.

So Headphone.com has a b-stock Rosewood for $995, usually HE-500's are $550 b-stock.  Almost double the price!

i'm pretty confident that the price boost is just audeze addressing the issue of the lcd3 not sounding $1k better than the lcd2
 
now u need to add only $800 to get the lcd3 over the lcd2
 
isn't that sweet?
 
a genius approach, why to cut the lcd3 price, to increase their value, when u can bump up the price of the lcd2, and revenues, that is!
 
i'm getting a pair of lcd3 right away, before the lcd2 price drops and consequently the lcd3 lose in value!

No, what needs to be done is LCD2 owners need to be segregated into LCD2 bamboo and LCD2 rosewood threads, the rosewood thread will be re-instated into Summit-fi, while the bamboo thread will be left to decay in the "full-sized headphones" slum.
