Lee, i believe you and many people who praise Terra on this site. But for me it did not make it, as simple as that... and if i need higher fidelity i always have my front end rig at home.

btw, i also like dx50 paired with T1, very good sounding combo, and i still wait for Calyx to see if it will unseat ak120 which is what i hope for.

The Calyx does look quite interesting indeed. Maybe I can borrow that as well.....

hrrrrrr.... you bad boy :)
frankly speaking 1p2 ended large part of my portable gear journey since i know now better what i need. i also stopped bothering about compromises and law of diminishing returns because in the end botn are waste of my time and money.

i just hope Calyx to become end stop for some time for me.

I see on Facebook A&K US have just put the MK II AK100 on sale, $799 including the leather case a micro SD sampler card and 15% off a purchase at HD Tracks. No news on the larger memory AK120 yet. They also still list the original AK100 for sale though if I were going for either I would stump up the extra dosh as a large amount of the extra can be accounted for with the case.

Hello all, first post here on head fi!
Updated my AK120 to firmware 1.37 and to be I find the sound to be fatiguing, the bass is sharper and so are the highs. Interestingly, turning on user EQ (mine's completely flat) brought the sound back closer to where it was before, closer to my perceived neutral. Isn't that weird though? That the default no EQ should already have EQ applied to it and I had to turn on EQ and set it to flat to get a neutral sound?
