) of the Graphical UI of the AK240 please ?

[Edited by mod]

Does the AK240 allow to browse through album arts like iTune or (bellow) Calyx ?

No it doesn't. Album art is only displayed when you are playing the song and not visual anything where else.

The AK240 UI is quite simple and primative but very responsive.

Here is a list of things that i found that you can't do:
1. chose you sorting perference..etc album date..album artist
2. Does not allow grouping by album artist instead of artist
3. Edit the Tag
4. Copy songs/album from SD to internal storage and vice versa

  Hi guys, back at last.

Just some comparisons from a friend who's been using my AK120 for some time now,

He says the 240 is a very much cleaner sound than the 120, very different for his taste but he likes it and prefers the 240 over the 120. He does miss the warmth of the 120 sometimes but overall the 240 is a keeper.

Hi VZ,

I tend to agree with him in terms of what I've heard when I've played around with the WM8740/8741 vs. Cirrus Logic 4398.

Thanks for posting,

Vinnie

This is just my SUBJECTIVE opinion!

I have been listening my AK240 for the past day (around 14 hrs listening time) and I must say I am liking it quite a bit especially in DSD mode.
On the NAD M51/WA22/LCD-3 I honestly couldn't hear any difference between DSD and 16bit lossless but I do on my Lumin speaker setup
To my suprise not only did it sounded different but it sounded fairly close (85%) to my speaker setup ( minus the sound stage ofcos)

I played songs that I have been listening to for the pass 15 years and WOW not too bad at all :)
The clarity and syenergy was top notch, It made the 16pro sound like headphones ..everything was wide open floating a in the air a few inches around my head.
It has giving my JHA16pro( Not Freqphase) a second life with the improvements I have been hearing.
I am not say 16bit Flac is bad..it is not even close to that...it sounds very very very good indeed but DSD was just on another level.
I did a blind test last night.. literally a blind test..
I placed a towel over my eyes and my wife would randomly change between 4 tracks( 2 songs in 16bit and 2 exact same songs in Dsf)
And I was able to Pick out the DSF one every single time .

I have a confident feeling that the 16pro with the AK240 is not giving the AK240 a good run for it's money.
If the 16pro sounded this good..I can't imagine how the Roxanne and my LCD-3 would sound.

I probably won't give a detail impression until I get my Roxanne and a balance adaptor for the LCD-3.

So far to me it is definitely a keeper..

Ps. Now I think I really need to upgrade my desktop rig ...lol

Thanks a lot for the answer.  Hope they will improve this GUI with future Firmware releases...
