So are they low impedance? 32 ohm,no bass roll off with the Tera?

Not sure about impedance ,not at home, but they are easy to drive, have such bass anyway, but it seems no roll off either

My personal theory on the price increases is Charle's believes greatly in his product, that it's the best sounding player on the market available still to this day, and most likely (to him) above all the AK line up. I've seen a pattern where each time AK released 240, 380 etc the price of Terra increased not long after.

Of course there's no absolute truth behind my words, just my personal theory..

Wouldn't it make more sense to release it at a lower price so people would buy it over an Astell and Kern.

I would love to see Charles selling the Tera player let's say for £500, lots and lots will be sold straight away. But that's not possible.
He is a genius and and a wise man.Is protecting his creation and i respect that.
He is selling them only those those that really care and appreciate good sound quality, but you can always email yourself. Very good at replaying fast.

The first few Tera Players were sold at the introductory price of 500 Euros, I know as this is what I paid for mine, then the price settled at 840 Euros and this was reasonable given the bespoke nature of this unique DAP. Thereafter the price doubling started and... Well the rest is well documented elsewhere.

Ok my friend Soundblast75, so the impedance of the Pioneer Master headphones is 45 Ohm, Tera output is 10 & 20 Ohm.
Can you describe which output you use to get a great match with the player?
How long did you burn them in for,and this combo is better then Porta Pro Modified or anything else you tried before?
A better description on the sound will be much appreciated.
Are you using the stock cable of aftermarket?

But how do you know that is not possible? Has Charles revealed this to you? Unless he told you this there could be many reasons - not worth it his time to make and sell them at lower prices, running out of components, wants to make sure nobody has more expensive product because that could be interpreted that other products may be better, etc. We just don't know and Charles obviously does not have to reveal his reasons - its his product and therefore his decision.
Also, how is Tera (or any other creation) being 'protected' if very few are actually being sold?
By the way, I'm completely in agreement with you that Tera is the best (both SQ and form factor) - just not understanding how you came to those other conclusions.

I thought that is not possible just by looking at the video how they are made.
Time consuming and unless Charles don't give the ARM source code to a manufacturer cannot be produced on large scale,so price is what it is.
Just my own opinion. I would really like him to join Headfi in the near future.

He was. I asked him not to be rude to other members and his reply was equally rude, which is both unacceptable and unfortunate. I guess it is his personality which cannot be sensible when it comes to both interacting with others and pricing his player. Oh well.

I wanted to suggest though, given replies to my question about the Mojo, that fans of the Tera Player's sound might want to give the Soundaware M1 (Analog version) a go. My train of thought is that if the Tera Player is going to be priced out of affordability, then exploring capable alternatives would be in order.

OK - you and I joined at about the same time, I have only a tangential interest in the product or the man yet I knew he'd been banned from this forum. For someone who seems to worship the ground the guy walks on, you would seem to have some catching up to do.
