Not a fan personally. I have both the K712 and the HD650, and what I like about the K712 is that it has more treble sparkle than the 650, so when I want that little extra brightness, I have get it with the AKG. The problem is that the Asg2 is a warm and hazy amp and it kills any of the bite the treble has, so it neuters one of the things I like about the K712.

yes, the K712 has a wider soundstage. but the 650 narrower soundstage makes the mids more intimate and more right next to your ear/ in your head feeling, the K712 is still good in the mids however for gaming and overall usage the K712 pro is one of the best headphones for its price

does anyone feel their ears hurt after say 30 so mins of listening? I thought they were much more comfy than previous headphones, with being lighter and all but finding more pressure on the ear, is this something to get use too?

may need to inc a ear workout in my routine :p. seriously though anyone else?

In addition, once you hear any AKG K700 series, you'll now hear how 3D soundstage sounds like.

You may want to try gently bending out the orange plastic in order to widen your 712s.

Hi all,

i'm using the k712 with Scarlett 2i4 and the sound starts to distort when the volume knob is around 3 o clock.(max is 5 o clock).
Is this because of the 2i4 headphone amp or this is the max volume what the headphone can handle?

I'm pretty sure it is because of the amp.
You can't drive the k712 to distortion that easily.
Probalby your interface can't handle low impedances to high volumes.
Also the Scarlett 2i4 is not aimed to be a headphone amp but the headphone out shouln't be bad though.
