Ludwig van Beethoven and the 3rd, 5th and 9th would be a great way to start. Somehow I love this stuff. The world also loves it. I have very little training in music but find a wonderful experience getting up in the morning to the 5th. The enjoyment may be only a phase that you go threw but you will find yourself coming back to his works over and over again though out your life. I started with a Karjan 9th 30 years ago and still find the music interesting and charming.
Hmm.. I've not mentioned any krautrock, but here's a good one by Cluster (not actually kraut, more drone, but what the heck) - Live in der Fabrik from 1972: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxaMSb9SzDc
In 2007 they actually reunited and in 2009 released a new studio album 40 years after the formation of Kluster.
For Christian Genre, one of my favs is Switchfoot "The Beautiful Letdown". It has awwsome bass, a pretty cool message , just an all around great tune (it rock out). Here's the embed to YouTube!

If you get into the experimental genre, how about The Blue Man Group. There's a great one they did with Dave Mathews Called "Sing Along"

I don't mean to flame but saying Pendulum is drum 'n bass is like saying Justin Bieber is underground hiphop. They may share some beats but that's about it. I'd say Pendulum is poppy, crowd-pleasing dance music with a penchant for two-step beats and trancey synths. Don't get me wrong, I kinda like 'em, in a guilty pleasure kind of way.
