Yeah, hopefully I can get another unit to test. I don't remember getting a poor fit (after all, after demoing 200+ iems, I know when something doesnt seal)) but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps it follows the harman sort of curve more where upper midrange tends to be too aggressive and thin/shrill for my preferences. Due to that reason I find Fearless IEMs to have a thin and shrill sound since they are inspired by the harman curve afaik.
  2. redrol
That is not the Harman curve at all. I'd say a harman curve target could be described as full and balanced, not thin and shrill.
  3. audio123
Agreed. Which color did you get?
  4. toranku
Just how I perceive sound personally. My target reference is usually studio monitors when it comes to sound. Harman is way too intense for me for casual listening. I prefer a way more tame midrange. Since it's just more realistic to my ears.

The Harman curve tries to simulate an flat Studio monitor in a Room. The curve that we see, with the big 12db on the 3k is the raw measurement of what the human ears percieve of the flat Studio monitor, That is the natural. When you apply the compensation in a iem that follows the harman curve, you will get basically an L shaped, as the perceived sound.

Unfortunately I've tried harman curve inspired iems and they've never sounded natural to me. As I said from the very beginning, this is how I perceive sound. Harman in IEMs have a tendency to result in a thin sound as well. I actually fnid Harman to be imbalanced when it comes to upper mids vs lower mids. The steeper slope towards 3-4kHz is way too much for me.

There's upgrade cable available for Oxygen with 5N single crystal copper. Waiting delivery from Penon audio.

Sounds like they compare favorably to the iBasso IT04 in your opinion if you're investing more into them. :)
  10. bahamot
Definitely, if someone wanna buy the IT04 from me, I'll be happy to sell it. But of course there are pluses on minuses on both IEM, but given the price the Oxygen is great purchase.
Yeah, I feel oxygen is that good.

When you can, please, give us a more detailed impressions about the sound. I am a little worried about the fit. Was it very difficult to find a good seal?
  12. bahamot
For me, luckily I just need to change the tip to smaller one.

So, 270$ IEM needs 60$ cable upgrade? 330$ in total? Hmmm... thank You but no (out of my price range + I think there are better options with noticeably less money).
Wonder how original and "upgrade" measure compared to eachother.

@bahamot ,please measure both cables with multimeter when You get them.
Will save ppl lot of money if they measure close.

You don't have to buy the cable if you don't want to. I bought it because of the 4.4mm and I prefer using cable from the same brand. On top of that, I don't do DIY.

I won't measure anything, I don't have the tools and skill doing that.

Got the Oxygen on loan for 2 days will compare it to some other chifi available to me at the store and also some dap pairing. Initial impression is pretty ok, not great, not bad, just OK.
