Tanchjim in ear monitors Impressions Thread

Just got Ola. It's actually good if you can get a good fit.
Soundstage cannot be beaten for that price.
The fit is atrocious really ala intime (similar nozzle).

Pretty sure it's similar driver in olina since they are from same factory?
So similar performance at <1/2 the price?

Zex pro is rubbish.
One of the few positive impressions on Ola. Which eartips would you suggest?

If recent disclosures have made anything clear, it is that all budget IEMs come with compromises. The Tanchjim Ola makes fewer than most. If you’re looking for a neutral IEM with excellent technical performance for the sub-$50 price point, look no further.

My full review, with measurements, a comparison with the Moondrop SSP, and additional images, is available on my blog:

Lately, I've been hearing a rumor that the new Oxygen is different from the old Oxygen (new ones being bassier), and just happened to me to spot those pics from Oxygen's internals:

This one was recently shared by redrol:

The back of the driver and its tuning material looks very different to me, is there any confirmation that the driver swap is real by Tanchjim?

Stealth retunes by CHIFI companies are not uncommon, KZ ZS6, Tin T2, SMABAT ST10 was also retuned for example (stealthily). I highly doubt these companies will openly admit the swaps, unless someone here is an insider.

Guess the best option is for an independent party to obtain an older model and a new model and open the drivers and also do graphs.

The black fabric on the back of that driver is actually a tanchjim tanya damper and was a mod done by the guy that shared the picture. The stock driver uses the same type of vent paper as the tear-down and its actually under the black fabric damper.

Tanchjim Ola arrived today, and honestly it surprised me. The sound is extremely matured, because, even though bright, it is definitely not lean - the notes have sufficient body to sound natural. It is also quite an airy sound, and no uncomfortable peaks can be detected.
These impressions are all with the stock mic cable and out of phone. Will try different cable and source later.

Thanks for the heads-up. Besides that, the PCB pads are also different but that might be just a different batch thing.

I know this is a thread for IEMs but has anyone heard Tanchjim's Stargate dongle? Not much info on it, seems like a decent option for iOS users.
yes, the sound is much "cleaner" than apple dongle. I have them both. Critical listening will let you know that stargate makes the bass is tighter and nuances at top ends has dynamic edges.

Much appreciated. Would you say that it competes with dedicated DAPs? I'm just looking to justify the price, I would be only using IEMs and am curious if it has enough push.
