Well, from my testing, there isn't almost difference to my ears. I do feel like the older ones seem to have a small difference in bass that I prefer, like it's less aggressive or something, but it's very very subtle. It could be a very light burn in, and I could only hear that if I focused really hard.
It's probably due to small differences in seal due to new pads vs used pads.

But on a relaxed / regular listen, they're the same. Same great highs, that characteristic treble, same slightly recessed mids, and same tight bass (which I'm just loving, not too much punch, but powerful enough to feel it on your head), I really love these. If only the vocals could come slightly forward, they'd be perfect. But I can't complain, really, since I tend to care more about the melodies of a song, and these sound amazing. And, as expected, the silver still has that little extra pressure that needs to be broken in.
This could be a factor too.

These are really gonna make it a lot better on those times when I need to isolate myself when programming. I might consider buying one of those boom cables so I can use it for regular and skype calls, but I am waiting for feedback on them from @RedHarlow *hint hint nudge nudge* And worry not Ben, the ones on the job were never gonna get the Objective2, so it doesn't matter.
I am both relieved and disappointed at the same time

Been looking to get a pair of closed gaming headphones for my media consumption + casual gaming. My search led me to the HyperX Clould Alpha and somehow that led me to this thread.
Just ordered it and hopefully it will turn out good.

Welcome to the club!
For gaming, you should either purchase a cable with a microphone (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Upg...ack-Cable-Mic-For-Bose-Quiet/32810246600.html) or a separate microphone.
For music please consider an Amp/DAC: Comparison of DACs/Amps

I bought the Xiaomi A1, along with the 1.2m cable and the Takstar 82 is the perfect combination in portability, no need to carry a dac / amp.

Did you get it already? Do you experience the hissing issue?

I am confused by the "10V" amplifier - usually amps are measured in watts, not volts.
Or do they mean 10VRMS? That's highly unlikely, it would equal NFB-11.28 - http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/Headphoneamp/NFN1128/NFB1128EN_Specs.htm

GSMArena did give high marks to A1's SQ: https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_a1-review-1668p6.php#aq
The sharp drop starting around 17Khz probably isn't audible.
Hopefully "Dirac HD Sound" can be turned off, otherwise you'll be listening to altered music.

there is a hiss with low impedance headphones like my Dunu 2000j, luckily in the Takstar 82 the hiss is barely audible, you have to be absolutely silent to perceive something.

the power of the amplifier and the sound quality are fantastic, they drive my akg 712 without problem... that never before had done with a phone. Xiaomi promises headphones up to 600Ohm
I do not know if you can deactivate the Dirac HD Sound with any app and external dac by usb

I would like to know the dac chip that the phone carries, I can not find information about it...

Probably just a codec, not a proper DAC chip - otherwise they would advertise it, just like they do with the amplifier.
Doesn't matter though, as long as it sounds good.

Hi there.
New member here :)
Have been following this thread for a week or so, and got really curios about these cans. So curios that i just bought a pair (although i don't need it, although my wife will make that face when she sees it and tell me "another pair of headphones??").

Anyways, i'm very curious to hear it because i see benf comparing it to usd500 cans (seriously??), although i really doubt it will outperform my favorite can at this moment (philips fidelio L2)...
But still eager to try it

Another one bites the dust!
It will surely sound like a very expensive headphone, if you'll treat it like one.
Meaning you have to use high quality DAC and amplifier - what equipment do you have?
SMSL Idea with O2 are a great combination for Pro 82.
ELE EL-D01 with FIIO E6 is another winning combination (and much cheaper)
