These do not glow like the mesh plates, correct?  Are they less hot versus some others?
Thanks.

No they do not glow like Mesh Plates, the heat is the same as from any 300B

Do search on Takatsuki Price Japan and that will give you the answer.

Just placed the order for a pair.  Looking like 2 weeks or so.
Can't wait to put it here:

What is the market value of a lightly used pair of the white base 300Bs?  I just bought the newest model and may sell the older ones.

What's your impression of the differences between the two? I may be interested in getting your older ones.

I have not spent enough time listening to the new ones yet so I don't have a good answer.

You should get close to 80% of the current list price of the black based 300B if you sell it yourself.  Some likes the sound of the previous.  Personally, I don't really hear any difference.
Good luck.

The list is $1400.  I would be fine getting $1000.

For those with the Woo WA5, would you recommend the Takatsuki 300B as your favorite choice?

If you cannot get NOS Western Electrics, then a resounding yes!

I need to get a 300b SET amp.  I hear the Taks and elrogs are amazing.  A lot prefer over WE 300B which is amazing given the sheer amount of gravitas, rep wise, the WE 300B have.

The new Elrog's, I mean the shipment that has just landed are phenomenal, very different and much improved over the earlier sub 800 serial numbers, its a real toss up between those and the Tak's - both are easily superior to the original WE 300B's (not the 90's re-issue) - as long as both are paired with the Tak 274B rectifier.
