I'd go to amtrans corporation, it's in Tokyo just about, what looks like, a 5 minute walk from Akihabara station. It's where price Japan gets their tubes from, they just act as a go between to get around the language barrier.

I am thinking if you buy form Price Japan then for export they would not charge the 7% sales tax ??

anybody know about tax return in japan?  i know if you shop in a big shopping mall.  somebody at the mail(concierge) can help. but if shopping at a store, same?

Yeah I'd think they would be able to. They don't have to pay tax on exports so it should help relieve some of the gst and import fees for when it lands in Australia.

They don't at their store front at least, need to pay up 7 days in advance and pick them up later. They do have some nice NOS tubes there though, there were a fair few old WE types. Didn't get too good a look though, was too busy figuring out a way to get the two big ass boxes I picked up off them back to the hotel :S

Nice idea. Isn't it too specific? Drives equally well LCD-X or Abyss cans? At this price level I'm looking at the Viva Egoista carrying 845 tubes which is very universal.

Fririce0003 and I are using the Woo 234 mono blocks with them, have also compared them tot he WE274B and the WE300B's, the Takatsuki IMHO are the best current production valve available by a considerable margin and even best the legendary WE's in some area's.

True that with the 234 Mono they should shine.
At that price level (speaking of the WOO), I'm looking at the Viva Egoista and the 845 tubes. We begun talks with Viva and thinking at the TotalDAC DUAL as a source (dimetrized).
