T-PEOS H-300 - 3 Way Hybrid Impressions and Appreciation Thread

Will do. This is exciting, also a little scary. It's been 2 months since I last came on head-Fi and 2 hours in,I already have 3 items on my to-buy list... Ouch.

The problem comparing RDB+ v1 is Rhapsodio changed the dynamic driver in that hybrid 3 times I know of personally, I also heard they did some phase tuning with the balanced armatures in later editions. This makes life difficult to give an accurate comparison as the models I've heard were earlier editions.

Between the Dunu and H-300 I find the T-Peos superior, bass is tighter, faster it has better low end separation giving the ability to hear each bass note defined easier where as the Dunu is a touch loose, a touch 'puffy' or lightly bloated and forward. Overall H-300 bass is closer to neutral than Dunu. Moving onto the mids again H-300 pulls away, while I'm hearing the mids a touch recessed on H-300 they're instantly clearer and more coherent,  makes DN-1000 sound blurry or hazy, there's more clarity with H-300 similar to what was found in H-200. Treble I find the Dunu smoother and a touch laid back in comparison  while the T-Peos has better extension and a bit more wizz bang. 

If I had to sum up H-300 where I am right now, it reminds me a little bit of Vsonic GR01 or a psyched up Fisher Audio DBA-02 with a fast tight dynamic driver backing up the presentation filling out the low end. The mids are a little thin and I hear some recession and the tonality leans crisp, clean if not a little bright. It just sounds really really clear detailed and coherent, the soundstage has a 3D effect where the stereo imaging kind of jumps outwards from the sides. it's probably the closet to audiophile I have heard from T-Peos, sounds more professional and has a vibe unlike H-200 which was more a kind of TF10 powerful pushy presentation. The H-300 sounds a little laid back compared but well skilled in posture and finesse.

I guess they are not posting it? I received a reply from T-Peos to send in my H-200 and they will check them. Then they will invoice and send the H-300. However, they did not provide me with an address to mail in my H-200

Me too, but he did say it's for all owners of the H-200. Just shoot him an e-mail for the address.

So uh, I had a bit of an impulse buy moment and bought these on the pre-sale. Got them this morning, and begun putting them through their paces.
 
First impressions (no burn in yet)!
 
+ Soundstage is huge! Very airy.
+ Bass is tight and accurate, though also quite restrained. Powerful where it should be, but not a step further.
+ Vocals especially are quite well balanced in the mix.  I'd say they are closer to transparent than most IEMs I've heard. Just a touch recessed, without losing any clarity.
+ Accuracy and detail in the upper mids and highs is excellent. Really good resolution. Hearing a touch of smearing in the lower mids. Will see how it develops.
 
- Very bright! Probably a little too much, as I can see them becoming fatiguing. Though I've been able to control it a little with the hard-centre silicon tips when compared to default soft silicon. Foam tips just make it worse so far as I've tried.
- Similar to above, they are not especially full or warm-sounding in the midrange. Which is not to say detached or unmusical, just closer to the analytical side.
 
They kind of remind me of Grado RS1 in terms of sound signature. But early days yet
 
Having not heard the H-200 I can't compare the difference unfortunately.

So far, from H20's and your impression, sounds like they are an bright-analytical-with-good-bass type of signature?

I think they are still too lively-sounding to be generally described as analytical, but they are closer to the analytical than v-shaped or something like that. A fairly balanced sound I think.
