Not good for my ears though.  Too easy to get confused - especially when you don't know all the ins and outs of the new kid on the block.  I'd prefer to just spend a couple of days with it by itself, and slowly get to know its strengths and weaknesses before doing direct comparisons.
 
What I am amazed at though is how good the sonics are nowadays on IEMs in the $80-$150 bracket - and this was unheard of a few years ago.
 
I'd honestly take the DN-1000, or the Altone200 over the SE535's I used to own.  I've got a $100 Brainwavz S5 with me as well this week, and it's the best Brainwavz offering I've heard since the B2, and there's the RockJaw Alfa Genus I just finished reviewing as well.  Both of those should be in higher price brackets as well IMO.   Good time to be a portable music lover!

But is the Altone200's mids even anywhere close to Se535's mids?

SE315 - meh.  Not bad once upon a time - does vocals well - but a little metallic sounding, otherwise uninspiring for the price.
SE425 - great if you like really neutral.  Clear but polite.  You might find it lacking both impact and sparkle
Altone200 - brighter side of neutral, but with great bass impact when called for, and very, very clear.  Exciting signature - a little V shaped - but mids not really recessed.

Two very different presentations.  SE535 has very smooth but very forward mid-range.  On SE535, the mid range is where most of the focus us. Altone200 has more balanced mid-range, more bass and more treble.

I too apologize for H20's behaviour, excessive amounts of caffeine will do that a man.
Maybe shoot down to rehab buddy, that coffee addiction is getting out of hand - always see you poking your head out at 4am on head-fi :P

Can anybody privy to the Altone200s comment on the isolation? Will they encourage me to listen at safe levels on a flight or subway?

I've been thinking of trying my luck with the Zero Audio Tenore lottery... is it worth paying double for the Altone200s?

CONCLUSION: I’ve been looking forward to the day when T-PEOS finally releases a product that’ll satisfy my sound preference. I was spoilt by the H-200, thrilled by the H-300, and now satisfied with the Altone 200. I cannot stress enough how happy I am with the direction T-PEOS is heading. The Altone 200 is proof that these guys take customer feedback seriously and then strive to exceed expectations. Good on you T-PEOS!
