Not good for my ears though. Too easy to get confused - especially when you don't know all the ins and outs of the new kid on the block. I'd prefer to just spend a couple of days with it by itself, and slowly get to know its strengths and weaknesses before doing direct comparisons.
What I am amazed at though is how good the sonics are nowadays on IEMs in the $80-$150 bracket - and this was unheard of a few years ago.
I'd honestly take the DN-1000, or the Altone200 over the SE535's I used to own. I've got a $100 Brainwavz S5 with me as well this week, and it's the best Brainwavz offering I've heard since the B2, and there's the RockJaw Alfa Genus I just finished reviewing as well. Both of those should be in higher price brackets as well IMO. Good time to be a portable music lover!
But is the Altone200's mids even anywhere close to Se535's mids?
