Sub-bass with scene suggestions

Ok, thanks! Still need any suggestions about DAC/AMP for Emu

None needed as far as I know. All Fostex variants other than t50/60rp are easily driven.

To answer your question (late) about the emu teak sound, gimme headroom is right, it’s closest to the fostex x00 series.

However I found the x00 bass to be a bit too much overall, whereas the emu was just right, although the bass was still strong. This really helped create a natural tone that I enjoy with modern music.

Well, I just got TH-600 and I don't hear any bass, especially sub-bass. I've read a lot of reviews about them and a bit disappointed. Used them with IFI micro iDSD BL.
BGVP DMS got massive bass comparing to TH-600.
Any suggestions to further models?

Give yourself some time and make sure you get a good seal on your head. If you wear glasses, try without.

Also, listen for speed and accuracy of bass and percussion. I don't have the 600s but I have models below and above and they're both great for bass quality and also for quantity I think. So I expect you will be happy after a few days of listening. The clarity of Fostex bass is amazing. I hope you will enjoy it.

So are you trying to say TH-600/X00/900 are the best basshead headphones?

I wouldn't go that far, but they do have strong bass while still being fairly accurate.

I don't know since I'm not a basshead. But of the headphones I have heard, Fostex definitely renders percussion with the most speed and accuracy.
