I look forward to your impressions. I know Ray really like the 9000. After the update to my A 10, it seemed to take a long time to burn in but sounding great now. Very enjoyable with the HE90, more so than even a couple of months ago. Would be nice to hear the X9000 with it.

Ray's listening is at 3 to 3:15 on the X9000 and I know he is in love with it. His only comments have been it's lower efficiency but the A-10 doesn't hit the max output until 3:30 to 4:00 and there is no harm to the A-10 even at his listening level which is above most everyone. He wants to feel the music to his soul.

Yes, he listens loud. The A 10 has some nice headroom.

I don't know about that. I would have to hear it for myself. My AirPods are better than my HE90, so there you go. Get them AirPods!

Well, guess we have reached a "quality level" of discussion here that it is about time to leave....

As we say in italy "we must give caesar what belongs to caesar" and in this case I can't blame our dear @KDS315

going back to the 9000..it makes me a bit strange to have given up on the r10 in july because of a somewhat particular philosophy: listening on the go; and after having had the best possible combinations, i surrendered to the fact that real music is listen at home..and you'll wonder "why mention the r10 on a speech that seems unrelated?" perhaps, in fact it does not make much sense, but it was my first fi summit and it is from here that I can make comparisons with beasts of the same league.
and i have always acclaimed the old sony like many other headfiers as the best headphone for its incredibly real voices.. well, the x9000 (my first open headphone) made me doubt this statement.
I really can't find fault with the 9000..it's true, the voices sound different from the r10s,are less "crispy" and softer, warmer..but they are so well laid out on the stage (extremely precise) and open that it seems have the singer in front of you..
I honestly can't even understand why the 9000 has no bass (no criticism against other people's opinions), but as far as my ears hear, the bass of the 9000 is abundant in quantity but above all in quality!
now that I think about it, I mentioned the r10 because they are always the eternal rivals (r10, he90, omega, q010) and until proven otherwise, the omega is the grandmother of the 9000, and a real winner has never been declared against the old sony .
(and it seems to me that the omega doesn't differ so much from the 9000)
so sorry for my sentences lol

Team, my pair of X9000 developed driver imbalance two months after I received it from the local Singapore AD, Project Perfection (the same guys who own Dita) via its local retailer. It went back in the first week of December. More than 2 months on, Project Perfection still claims that there is no news from Stax JP about the status.

Just wanted to check how long did anyone who had to send their X9000 with driver imbalance have to wait before receiving a replacement pair or repaired pair?

Thanks all!

Thanks man! I am particularly concerned about the slipping standards of Project Perfection in Singapore: a couple of months ago, they sent me a set of CES-A1 which had been opened and one pair of ear tips and the back cover for the portable Stax was already missing… And then I had 2 deteriorated pair of ear pads for the Final Audio Sonorous X in a row…

So, you can understand my concern at the lack of updates. :frowning2:

within 3 months????insane
I looked to confirm dates.

I ordered the x9000 in January 2022, it arrived mid-September within 24 hours it showed driver imbalance. I express sent back the next day 9/11/22 to headamp. Stax received the unit according to headamp aprox 1month after, they then sent a brand new unit to headamp, who then shipped it to me. I received the new unit 11/11

So 60 days. But in some ways I basically waited 11 months for a working set given I only had the first unit under 1 day.

New unit has not had issues - going on 100 days in. Might be good idea to track which serial numbers are failing. My old one was a 13xx and new one is a 15xx

Mine was a 15XX. Yeah… it is disappointing that Stax does not seem to be able to produce a flagship that is reliable. At least Headamp was good about keeping you updated. In Singapore, Project Perfection (the Dita owners) are not so good or transparent. Nor very helpful. I reckon when someone has been the AD for so long, a certain degree of hubris creeps in.
