If these are to use on a train, why not just upgrade to better IEMs?  full size headphones sound best with an amp

Those headphones vary in sensitivity.  I hope you have an amp.

Also, I'd add the AKG K550, Audio Technica ATH-A900x, Denon D600, Shure SRH-840.

Pro900?   surround? why?  I only listen music ... for movies I got a $6K home theater. :)

S-Logic isn't some gimmicky digital sound processing. It's not any different from other headphones with angled drivers for improved soundstage.

And I'm not quite understanding your distinction between "listening to music" and "surround sound," as a 3-dimensional, airy soundstage which mimics a nice set of speakers, is a feature of most good headphones.

KEF M500
DT 770 (32)
AKG K550
Logitech UE6000
Sound Magic HP100
Sony MDR 10r

Woulda been my picks.

Out of those I think the KEF or soundmagic would win probably. They are both very underrated around these parts.

I actually don't plan to use an amp. For that reason I made sure to get all 4 at 32 ohms approx.

by the way....no love for Sennheiser?

The Grado is an open headphone

I know ... it's just that everyone says that Open headphones sound much better than closed ones. I know they also say that Open ones are not meant for public listening but hey, sometimes people overeghaturate  (wrong spelling I know) ... so I want to see for myself.
