It has due with the fact that the SR5 is very efficient, it doesnt require as much to sound good. As soon as you add more power with 4.4mm or higher gain, you'll notice the limitations & unnaturalness of the SR5 especially when you can compare it to others. Remember the cost so either the drivers, crossover or combination of both gives this off.

The tonailty is much more natural to my ears peception with lower gain, lower power. Its not my dac/dap as I have enough power sources where I would not experience distortion with IEMs.

With all of that said. SR5 is still a great IEM especially if youre looking for one thats a tad on the brighter side ie (Elysian tuned) and/or can be powered by a phone, its great option.

I find Final E eartips and copper cable will tone down the brightness and make it easier to listen to higher volume for those treble sensitive like me.

My SR5 is running on a class A amp with a tube preamp. The sound becomes bolder and more powerful and the SR5 gets a stronger low end. Less harsh and peaky treble.

This is great news. I hope I will try SR5 soon with my Hiby R5 II and Cayin N3 pro.

The SR5 scales with more power but there is a limit. Double amping brings the best results. Feeding even more Watts into this in ear is pointless. My DAC is on high gain, my preamp brings +15dB gain and my amp is on high gain too. I do not hear any improvements beyond that.

For some reason it seems like the sound has just improved after I have replaced my RCA cables with new 4n OFC cables from Aliexpress. Maybe I am just very tired and I am imagining things.

After some googling I have discovered that my RCA interconnect that I bought on a sale is in fact...

A knock-off of the Van den Hul D-102 Mk3 cable. It does work as expected so I guess this is a really good copy of the original.

I currently own a set of Diva. I can try my best to compare them, but I’m still a very new audiophile so I may not do the best. Still very much to learn and experience in this hobby.

The SR family is almost all here. I have to say OOTB SR8 is WOWing me. 14BA per side + 2 tuning switches are no joke. My understanding is 1 is for bass 2 is for treble; as a result, I can hear the difference when using the switches.

Another thing the SR8 has is its very efficient IEM needing iPhone/Android to sound good. I currently have it plugged into my Abigail Pro dongle via usb on my phone. I think Sound Rhyme has another home run on their hands. @ $749 USD, its a no brainer. More impressions to come but I would not be suprise if these compete well with the Trailliis of the worlds.

You may not believe me but a good burn-in does make treble response of SWFK better in my case, I usually don‘t burn any full BA set, but I could tell it for SR8.

It’s a bit of shortcoming that Sound Rhyme isn’t really talented in naming, they are surely solid engineers and tuners, SR8 is too plain in a naming IMHO.

A butterfly name like Morpho didius (it has structural blue, which pretty is rare to see blue colored animals in the nature)

Or some sort of dragon name may be better representing it’s performance over plain SR8 (people would think it’s a 8 unit IEM, if SR5 is 4+1)

It's impressive how they were able to get 14 BAs in there and not have a huge god awful shell like some other brands.

Sushi Platter of Traillii like clones...But dont get it twisted, these are way better IMO and comes at a cheaper price.
