Why do you think 3.5 TRS has more natural tonality? Maybe it's feature of your DAC/DAP?
I'm wary of 60% volume because it's almost at the limit before the amp's distortion. In such cases, I increase the gain.

It has due with the fact that the SR5 is very efficient, it doesnt require as much to sound good. As soon as you add more power with 4.4mm or higher gain, you'll notice the limitations & unnaturalness of the SR5 especially when you can compare it to others. Remember the cost so either the drivers, crossover or combination of both gives this off.
The tonailty is much more natural to my ears peception with lower gain, lower power. Its not my dac/dap as I have enough power sources where I would not experience distortion with IEMs.
With all of that said. SR5 is still a great IEM especially if youre looking for one thats a tad on the brighter side ie (Elysian tuned) and/or can be powered by a phone, its great option.
SR5, Mega 5P, 41T, GAEA, EA Cadmus SPC cable.
I find Final E eartips and copper cable will tone down the brightness and make it easier to listen to higher volume for those treble sensitive like me.

My DAC and my amp are both set to high gain and the SR5 is connected with a 75 ohm adapter. This way it sounds more powerful.

After listening to the SR5 for the past 2 days, I am just about ready to pull the trigger on the SR8. I wonder what the future has in store for Sound Rhyme.

For some reason it seems like the sound has just improved after I have replaced my RCA cables with new 4n OFC cables from Aliexpress. Maybe I am just very tired and I am imagining things.

Looking forward for your SR8 impressions!
I just introduced Sound Rhyme to Japanese audiophile twitter community, it would take time, but as far as we share common language of “dude!! this thing sounds good!” I’ve got very little doubt that sooner or later Sound Rhyme would be gaining citizenship in Japan too.
Fake promo products won’t last long, but we know SR5 has got things to offer

I would probably pull the trigger on DTE500, but already got Variations. Hopefully they'll release a DTE500 successor without driver-flex in the future together with other colors. SR5 is still on the way.

Wait for SR5 maybe, if you like SR5, and convinced Sound Rhyme‘s tuning skills, then re-consider DTE500? As they just released DTE500, it probably would stick around for a while.
Is there a graph of the SR8? Based on what @AmericanSpirit has been saying the temptation is killing me, and at that price! Also just realized with all of my IEMs I don't have an all BA set.
