Hi. We'd love to have photos to post, but one of the major things we're waiting for in order to begin production is final case parts. Until then, the best we can do is 3D renders.

Is it going to have a different case/finish from the new Velo? Or will it look similar to match?

I hope the case is more like the MZ3, given the similar price point. Being selfish, it must match on my rack

Me too honestly, or even more so, I'd prefer the speaker amp look of the z10/z40 to anything else, just lovely aesthetic, especially for a DAC since it's more flat and wide.

It will look exactly like the Velo, except wider (and no volume control, two fewer tubes). We'll have the Aero in the final case at CanJam NYC this weekend, so look out for photos from there...

What function do the tubes serve in Aero, Nicholas? Will rolling them change the output audio?

They're in the output stage. Sort of like the 12SN7 / 6SN7 tubes in the MicroZOTL. Yes, changing them will affect the sound.

There were a lot of people listening to it. I was more focused on the Velo and was not aware of the Aero development and did not try it out unfortunately. From the small amount of time I had with the Velo I was impressed. I am interested in their R2R now and thinking the Aero/Velo will be a stellar combination.

If you listened to the Velo at CanJam NYC, you also heard the Aero. We had two Velo units - one at LTA's table and one at Meze's - and they were both connected to Aero DACs.

Wish I had! Too many great options, haha...

I'm inclined to pre-order this DAC though regardless. A tube R2R DAC sounds right up my preference alley.
