Sony Z1R....listening impressions only

After a long, long time
Already I can say that Z1R
Need
Very powerful amplifier
Work in FULL BAL mode

And UPOCC cable
The sound source is also FULL BAL

The nature of a clear amplifier and output give the Z1R
Sound WOW
is amazing

In classical music or anything else especially Dean Martin Frank Sinatra.

There is still a phenomenon of ZZZZZ mainly in recordings that it is more prominent and there are less

Sometimes it drives me crazy and for once there is nothing.
very interesting
Every over-bass disappeared
All sectors of the orchestra are arranged
A lot of small detail in the highs with impressive ambience

I did not miss at all the HD800 which had 3 pairs all sold

Does anyone have a chord mojo how is the sound with rhe z1rs through those I wonder.

Have tried the mojo..a bit shouty and closed-in compared to AK320, to my ears. but low freq was sublime. Overall worth a try.

if you use stock cable , its ok ,, but with a silver/copper cable it get better and more power out of the Mojo , (deeper bass and better imaging)
To my ears it get very close to my HPA8 amp quality, but still i prefer desktop amp with more power for my Z1R..

About Tyll's review methodology, I'm glad that he released the video and try to be more transparent about things, watching it makes me feel I know him a bit better now, though it did make me think

Is all the headphone he reviewed and made a video/ article of have gone through all he mentioned? Or did some stopped in after the measurement but still release a review anyway?
Though even if the Z1R did went through every step up to the last it still isnt an ideal environment to test it, especially on the part where it directly meets "comparable“ headphones, doing only so would't give enough time for the signature of the Z1R to settle in as the change from anything to it would be drastic.

Eh in the end it just not up to his taste, so whatever.

Quality I believe you but sound? LMAO

Are you still chasing that? Everyone has answered your question several times. And BuzzLulu is right, you should define whether or not you mean the Sony Kimber or the Kimber Axios. Both improve the sound over the stock. How much its improved is completely subjective. You want the good stuff? Buy the Axios. You want the low cost stuff buy the Sony Kimber.

@Richandra.
Why be mean?
You are, by far, the most dramatic, remorseful, uncomfortable, and contrarian buyer.
The pads are made of sheepskin. There are no counterfeit Z1R's.
People in the business of selling this gear stateside don't need you bombing their business advertising for Amazon.
Don't get yourself flicked from the site.
Words of advice from a fellow enthusiast.

I will add my 2 cents for anyone who needs it.
The Source AV is the best audio buying experience i ever had. JASON went truly beyond what he needed to do for me to get the Chord Mojo for a great price. It was sold out right before I purchased the new Focal Clear, and I my plan would of never worked with out it. The Source AV are truly for the customer. They run the audio business better than what it's supposed to be. I am thankful for a dealer like The Source AV.
This is a truthful message from a very satisfied customer.

And I was thinking of Illmatic this afternoon. We live about ten miles away from each other.
A real Sony guy!

Hahaha he’s good people. I love his enthusiasm. He may have just become a Focal guy let’s wait and see after he’s had the Clear for a while :)

Eh in the end it just not up to his taste, so whatever.

my understanding from the video is that tyll will make a judgement call on whether to review a headphone or not based on his first listen. if he decides to review the headphone then presumably it is subjected to the process that he explained in the video, which takes about a week. like any other reviewer, he can only judge a product as he finds it.

to say that the z1r just wasn't to tyll's taste glosses over the reasons why, which he provided in the review following his subjective and objective evaluation of it. it wasn't simply a matter of him listening to the z1r for five minutes, saying "i don't like it" and then moving on - anyone can do that.

in the end, you obviously like the z1r so tyll's assessment of it should be of little consequence to you, which is just another way of saying "whatever".
