SONY NWZ-A10 Series

Does this device sync with any software (e.g. could I transfer podcasts from Music Bee onto the Sony NWZ-A10??) or is it locked to Media Go?

also, what is the difference between the a10,a15 and a17 etc? is it just how much memory?  surely that wouldnt matter with the micro-sd for extra space?

  Curious.

Does this device have a Podcast setting?  how does it handle them?

I'm currently using a Zune HD which has a seperate menu item for podcasts (seperate from music) which I can just sync with the zune software.

a15 would be fine with a micro-sd for extra space?

Hi Jerry.

Yes it has a separate menu for podcasts but i ahev never used them so i don't know how to handle them

Yes I also use MusicBee with it, love it a lot

A10 is the generic name for the series, A15 is 16GB, A16 is 32GB and A17 is 64GB internal memory, all havee microSD slot for expansion, tough A16 is only sold in japan

I have the A17 which is 64GB and a 128GB microSD from SanDisk totalling the capacity of my ex-ipod classic  64 + 128 = 192GB

so the A15 16 + 128 = 144GB

I'm running SE846 with a Fiio E12 - I would never run any Sony DAP without an amp, they lack power.  Any review should include a good amp as well.

Sounds a bit of a silly statement. These are earphones aren't they albeit very high end. You could at least try A15 sans amp

I think the same bro, i'll wait for the 256 micro :beerchug:  I had a nikkon  coolpix s6 camera and ttreid to fix some connection lose with the battery terminal and ended over-bending a ribbon cable and breaking it oops!

I think so 256GB are still expensive as far i know Sandisk got a 512GB one so don't know if they are goint to cheap sooner or later

If you know how to solder you could trim the cable to the perfect length then solder the 4 traces together.

A slightly underappreciated fact is the A15 doubles up as a very decent portable FM radio. Decent reception, just a little hiss on quieter passages but a sweet sound.

Laid up in bed at the moment and it's soothing listening to some classical concert (Beethoven string quartets ?) on Radio 3. Don't know if anyone else uses the radio function but it a nice free and obviously 'analogue' source.

edit. Little known fact: RADIO is the original 'streaming' service having been around for about 100 years or so.

No radio might have been a dealbreaker for me, since even my clip+ has one. I always wonder why there's never AM capability- is the circuitry too bulky/power draining/expensive? I guess AM has been in steady decline for a while now, mostly good for sports and soapbox politics over here.
