If you do not need to play high res music on Windows (to export via another external DAC, not the ZX700), just use Apple Music, it is a good streaming service.

Apple Music has Lossless so yes it is Hi-Res. It’s what I’m using on my Zx707 and other DAPs as well.

It is glass and there are many screen protector for Walkmans on Amazon

It goes from an actual brick and mortar store (unaffiliated with FromJapan) in downtown Tokyo to their warehouse on the other side of town. It takes a day or two for that process, all good.

That sucks! I've never owned any Sony Android device, I'm a Pixel guy and these are easy to root and mod.

I wonder if the bootloader is actually unlockable on Sony's smartphones. If it is, the same method might apply to the ZX707.

Sony smartphones are actually pretty open. Those uses the standard `fastboot oem unlock` command with a unlock token one can easily obtain from their website.

I guess that's Sony for ya. The audio department is just doing their own stuff although the smartphone department is right there. Even the system updater is different compared to Xperia phones.
