If anyone can help. I have a WM1A and I tried everything suggested from Sony to manually add album covers without any success. Is there a way?

I had the same problem with the Sony nw-a45. I downloaded the Metadatics app from the Apple Store to embed the cover art into the music file, the cover art has to be 600 x 600 and don't ask me why are those dimensions, that is what I did, and after that the Sony Nw-a45 was able to load the cover art for every single album. For converting Flac to Alac I use Tunesify.

From my personal experience, most of the time, not displayed album covers come from either a png or progressive jpeg file.

I use an app called Meta on my mac and it seems to work on my A55, no missing artwork. I am running Mr Walkman though.

Are automatic system updates ON by default on this player? I don't want to update and worried if I connect to wi-fi it might update... Any one know if this is a thing and if so how to turn automatic updates off. I'm fairly sure the player updated once by itself without instruction but my memory is a but fuzzy.

I've always updated manually, I don't think there is an automatic update option(?), only If you use the Music center.

This firmware update is manually activated.
But It is still best to switch off auto update in developer options.
