Thank you very much, that's an answer!

I think i'll do it this Amazon way, customs really worry me. I've had the Sony A15 and the zx300. The volume cap before rockboxing them was ridiculous with both, although i clearly preferred their hardware and software to the ones i found in ibasso, cowon, fiio... So no, the european version is not an option.

Exactly, just forget the EU/UK ones. I got one from Amazon UK and with the Shure 846 the volume was constantly around 100. It did not sound good, too.
Lol, full size headphones? No way.
Had it returned. My buddy ordered one from Amazon Japan (fulfilled just like the other guys stated) and was here in 7 working days. It sounds great and is cheaper (around 600 euros inc import handled from Amazon J). I just bought it from him since he is keeping his wm1a.

Hello friends

I am undecided whether to return a Sony ZX-507 (European Version) since it has very little output volume and I only listen decently to a couple of IEMs that I have, but as soon as they have> 32 ohms the problem is greater since I run out of volume.

As of today, can the European version of the Sony ZX-507 be "raised in volume" through some Japanese software or similar?

I'm afraid they will have to go back to the store.

Thanks friends for reading me

Just curious: does any of you have experience with the European version of zx2? I have one and I have never had the need for it to be any loader. Right now I’m listening with my Stellia’s, and about 60-70% is fine for my ears.....So just wondering if the EU version of the 507 would be ok for me just with better soun?

Volume lower than ZX2 from memory. And for post above yours, no way to bypass the EU lock.

Having to have 8 ohm SE846 via balanced at 100/120 is abysmal. I had a Japanese import A105 first and even on its 3.5mm I only had the SE846's at around 85/120.

So for EU ZX507 you get pathetic volume and no high gain mode in addition to short battery for streaming audio services and 24/48 downconversion unless using Walkman app.

Looks and sounds gorgeous though so I still want to import one if Sony resolve the 24/48 limitation and live with the low battery life (unless using Walkman app).

Wow you listen loud! Using 32ohm IEMs and comfortable for me is 80-90 high gain unbalanced

My standard UK spec Samsung Exynos S10+ 3.5mm socket drives my SE846's loud at around 50% volume. I don't listen loud.

I'll admit on 4.4mm balanced at 120/120 it was too loud to listen to but come on . . . These are 8 ohm IEM's! No headroom for anything more demanding.

A member higher up also said he set at at 100 with SE846's too.

We are talking EU capped version, it doesn't have high gain. Think yours isnt EU version.

Unfortunately not.

The EU version is ok with easy to drive iem's like the Andromeda etc, but that's it. Even with the Andro's on some quiet albums I'm near maxed out on volume

Thank you all very much for answering me.

Feeling very sorry my ZX507 returns to the store. I am a few years old (61) and my ear needs a little more push than a young ear. I feel sorry for Sony because they lose a customer. I do not understand how Sony does not give the option of high power & low power and that it is the end user who decides based on their need.

I will continue to use my LG V30 to listen to music.

Cheers
