If you guys worry about battery life, maybe use this setup. This might be good for you depending on your regions and battery regulations. For me, I will never worry about running out of battery anymore.

One 3M Picture Hanging Strip, and,

One right angle (4 inch) usb c cable, and,

One Anker PowerCore 10000 Portable Charger

Has anyone else had issues with glue perishing on the rubber backing material? My ZX507 has a big air bubble over the NFC antenna and the rubber backing comes away easily.

This just a small discovery on the ZX507 with firmware 2.01:

Android has a safe mode which disables all 3rd party apps. You can enable safe mode by holding down volume down button during restarting.

Walkman music app still works in this mode.

What I discovered is that the sound signature in safe mode is totally different vs normal mode.

Normal mode sounds more 3D-like and more distant Soundstage. There's a certain softness to the transients

In safe mode, it's more brighter sounding and more 2D in it's soundstage.

This is even if you run direct source mode.

What I think is there is more signal processing going on behind the scenes in the ZX507 than what we would imagine it to be doing. Meaning direct source mode isn't as "direct" as you think.

I am trying safe mode now, wow, for me there is more bass, more treble, vocals are still clear, it's not 2D for me, everything just sounds more forward for me, the sound isn't as controlled, it's a bit splashy, but it sounds more like a pure Class D sound. I think your right there is less signal processing going on when listening in safe mode. Very interesting, I like the sound in safe mode and normal mode equally, just two different presentations. I feel transients are actually better represented in the safe mode, but overall it's not as versatile a presentation as the normal mode. My favorite part of the safe mode presentation is the vocals, more pure, but the less controlled bass and treble make it hard to fully appreciate. Thanks for the find.

the sound in ZX507 safe mode reminded me of the sound in ZX2 Walkman with sound adjustment app disabled, less processing.

I find that using Low gain with safe mode helps tame down the bass and treble abit. The sound on safe mode really works well with electronic music. It feels very fast.

Has anyone tried the NW-ZX507 with Sony IER-M7, MDR-Z7M2 or/and XBA-N3BP? How the models XBA-N3BP and IER-M7 are sounding with this walkman via balanced output?
I live in Sweden and here I can buy only the MDR-Z7M2, while IER-M7 has dropped in price and I can order it only from US. The XBA-N3BP is a product sold in Asian markets and again, it's not being sold in Sweden.

The unbalanced version of the XBA-N3; the XBA-N3AP is available on Amazon UK if they ship to Sweden? The only difference is the cable they ship with - so you could look for a IER-Z1R cable if you want the best.

I’ve not tried mine on the balanced output as it’s in London, and I am not :frowning2:

Good idea, I was using high gain, will try low gain in safe mode. Your right it does work well with edm.

Just compared the single ended output of the ZX507 against the ZX300 single ended and A105

ZX300 has the softest max output but is distortion free. The volume difference is not alot but noticable.

A100 and ZX507 both are equally as loud.

ZX507 on fw 1.x sounded the same as A105 on 1.x in terms of overall sound.

However it seems A105 has amplifer distortion when push above 100 volume. It gets very noticable at 110 or above. The bass loses definition and the vocals becomes strained.

ZX507 amp on single ended remains distortion free at max volume.

Comparison was using IER-M9 on SE.

Not sure if this was mentioned but there is now a Equalizer in Amazon HD Music player. It works also for Bluetooth

Interesting discuss everyone. I still very much enjoy the ZX507 but about a month back I replaced the original balanced OFC wires from an audio board to a 4.4 mm jack to Mundolf silver/gold wires. I also replaced the wires from the battery terminals to the audio board and the wires going to the super capacitor. I went with the Blue Dragon instead of silver/gold wires to the battery terminals due to flexibility. I can confidently say that my modified ZX507 has surpassed my WM1A and sitting at the same level as a stock WM1Z if not very slightly below that . If anyone is handy with soldering, please give this a try. I am sure that u will be super happy with the result.

Goin to do this Mod for the 4.4 Terminal only with DH Labs Silver Coated Continuous Crystal Copper.

Will Report back, but expecting great results.

Here is my setup for the battery. It might be good for you depending on your regions and regulations. The USB C cable has to be short like 4 inches. So I don't have loose cable hanging out. The strip will glue the player and the battery together. I will never worry about battery life anymore.
