Bass feels more slamy, bloomy and impactful on the new firmware.

Dynamic range is improved. Blacker background

A notch more analytical.

Did Sony state that the tones will change with each new FW ?

I saw some nice silicone cases on AliExpress for around £7 in the black tint silicone so you don’t get that yellowing... there are a few options like Benks etc that also do the WM1A and Z....

some sellers also include the tempered glass and the jack and socket plugs...

that way you aren’t hiding the DAPs look...

Of course not. And it does not

On my WM1A i can choose whether to upgrade and install FW or not and you can see what the updates do...though sometimes it’s not always straight forward to find it ... and if you’re not sure you check out places like here or ask Sony direct, I have always found them to be very helpful when I contact them... but I only go to their technical dept rather than the generic customer service...

I will find out for myself with the ZX507 as I just ordered a silver one which is not capped... should have it Monday...

I did mean to mention to some of the guys getting lag or delays with their music streaming apps that they should try downloading and installing older versions of their particular music app...,

I found both with Tidal and Qobuz that when I did that the apps were a lot more responsive especially with off line library use...

IMG_20200117_190140.jpg I demo'ed ZX507 for the first time yesterday at one Sony Store near my house.. It's sound signature doesn't impress me, the bass is so bloated (maybe because of MDR-1AM2 attached to it) while UI is not user-friendly at all.. I think I'll still stick to my good, old ZX300 for the time being until Sony comes up with a new replacement for WM1A that has streaming capabilities.. Or I'd just go for some Chinese brands like Fiio (eg. M11 Pro or M15) or iBasso (eg. DX220 or even cheaper DX160) which seem quite promising lately.. Sorry Sony - not this time round.. :frowning2:

gotta blame the MDR-1Amkii! I find the bass on the zx507 to reach low with plenty of robustness.....definitely one up from the ZX300 for sure. No bloated bass from my listening session here and I have the ZX300 along with the 1A to test with. The ZX507 is very near the 1A in sound quality and exceeding it in the bass department.

what's wrong with mdr 1Am2? I own them. they are pretty bright (audiosalesmen opinion), despite they are still capable of playing amazing bass (if u push them)
I am waiting to buy zx507.
I though it's a very good pairing zx507 + mdr1Am2, isn't it?
