Wait....what ? Did I hear it correctly ? The ZX2 does have some cons (flaws), but I am sure most of the people won't hear or realize it...probably (10%) that does.

Ignore him (kvud). He does once in while to get a rise from the people.. I think he may be trolling.. Search his posts you will find his one line gems all over

None of them are hard to drive.

Ill be gettinf a uerm in a few weeks. Ive heard the uerm on a few occasions now. My hope is itll synergize really well with the zx2. The extra little sub bass and extension the zx2 offers im hoping will rly work well with the uerm. Ill give more comments in a few weeks time

Any idea if this can drive the SE 5-way cIEM?

I think it drives dynamic drives iem better than BA drives iem, at lease you dont need to turn the volume very high.

Well, you might be surprised.

I have yet to jump into the BA-driver pool, and thus, all of my IEMs have been dynamic.

With the ZX2, I can usually listen at about 40% of max volume with my Sony MDR-7550 (aka EX-800ST), which are 16mm drivers rated @ 16 Ohms and 108dB sensitivity. But yet, I need to crank it up to about 55-60% to get the same apparent volume when using my Sennheiser IE800s—which are SMALLER 7mm drivers rated at the same 16 Ohms and an even higher sensitivity (Senn claims 125dB).

For my ZX2, I use the EX600 and EX800ST at around 50%, whiles my XBA 3 it's at 52-55%, I have also tested the new XBA 300, this needs to be set to about 65-70% to get the approximate same sound level are the rest.

My XBA.A3 require 20% to 34% vs my XBA-H3 required 25% - 40% (depending on recording volume set durng mixing) considering the NWZ.A17 volume is the same as NW-ZX100

I use JH13 at 35-50 while the new q-Jays require 50-70 for the same volume. Both are BA iems. This with the volume crippled EU ZX2

some ZX-2 owners tell me when yo play choir settings (masses, motets, madrigals, especially big church masses) if you hear clean or distorted upper voices (soprano & alto) sometimes tenors and bass men's distort on my NWZ-A17 why? volume 27% XBA-A3 or MDR-1R

My ZX100 playing Josquin Desprez and Johhanes Ockghem missae "L'homme armé" sound firgging CLEAN NO DISTORTION AT ALL same XBA-A3 same FLAC files as used on A17 walkman

why A10 series distort on very complex music like this high pitch or mid-range + reverb and vibrato from singers and my ZX100 is capable of clean and lean sound

That is the differences between DAP and their ability to reproduce sound :). You just mentioned the A10 series vs ZX series. They are both different, hence pricing different. There are differences between ZX100 and ZX2 as well. If we can all pay couple hundred for the quality of 1k player, we all would happily do so.

I tried both zx100 and zx2. On general the zx2 has more energy and a little better bass control. There's also some other improvement but definitely the zx2 is still superior as a dap. Though with the release of the new chord in tempted to make it into a transport now haha.

Acciording to this sony japan story (interviews)

http://www.sony.jp/walkman/special/ZX_series/zx100/interview04.html

also has the zx2 project interview

THE ZX2 uses same oscons as ZX1 and same substrate as NWZ-A10 series (really don't know what the hell is a substarte in this terminology google english LOL)

zx100 has new oscons and a new substarte
