Yup. I do agree. But some others doesn't sees it that way. But there are always reasons for people to upgrade or downgrade.
In the end, as long as we enjoy the music. It is all that matters
we don't know what we want, so we always try new things to understand how good and how bad it can be so that we can choose the most suited one and enjoy our music.

I'm interested in how you can infer volume from the value of some capacitors? They're just parts of an amplifier and comparing absolute values is as relevant as saying that a 120k resistor is "better" or "louder" than a 47k one.
I think the whole circuit needs to be considered, but it may be that you do have access to the schematics.
I also take odds with your analysis that removing the Adjustments app provides a "better" sound. It may well sound better to you, but you cannot infer that it is unnecessary. A programmable component (i.e. HW and associated SW) is just one element in the complete signal path that the engineers have implemented. This is evidenced by the fact that the volume control becomes extremely non-linear without the app running.
Again, though, if you prefer the sound then removing it is the best thing for you to do. I've found that I don't like it removed. But the key thing is that we're both correct.
In any case, I really appreciate your contributions to this board that I've only just joined.
LOL audiophiles (the graphs and number ones ) don't enhjoy the music, they enjoy making clains and equations and anaylisng the device... for me is that it sounds good enought
Yes capacitors is part of the amplifier processing. The more capability it is, the more powerful the discharge. I don't have the access to the design or know anything about it. I was just saying out of common senses.
Sony is known to gimp down it product audio to try and promote their technologies of DSEE HX and all those enhancements. I was a non believer at first, but until I downloaded power-amp and spent sometime with it that I could confirm it, and it did take me a long time to confirm it. Good things is that the enhencements are there to play with as long as it is enabled. There is no losses. Just enjoy the result the way your personal preferences were. Also, my apology but the ZX2 is on android OS and zx100 is Walkman OS. It probably is a big different, so disregard if it didn't help anyway.
then i would need a whole basement built just for listening to music, which is impossible in a crowded city.....luckily, we have products, like the zx100, to provide a good enough compromise.(hooorrayyy, we are back on topic)
