Because i can't discenr the differences between 24/176.4Khz vs DSD

Are there any advantages to converting DSD to PCM or Flac for playback on the ZX100? eg saving battery, sound quality?

more on saving battery life because playing DSD on the zx100 will convert it on real-time to PCM 24/174.6KHz

Which program do you use to convert formats?

years ago found a zip file called sacdISOs2EMflac Wich contained various bathc script and i had to install weiss engineering saracon. on average on my sony VAIO with 4th gen core i5 w/hyperthreading it tales 35 minutes to convert a full ISO, but on my 2008 dell 1 1/2 hours

MUC-M2BT1

could this be the perfect portable solution for nw-zx100, ldac high bitrate receiver - MUC-M2BT1

https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Receiver-MUC-M2BT1-Compatible-XBA-300AP/dp/B01C587LQK

plus a sony or shure ( as shown in amazon ) balance armature earphones

perfect portable solution, no compromise or hassle, but it won't be cheap

ideally MUC-M2BT1 + XBA-A3 ( or A2) with your nw-zx100

My hd-5 has a swappable battery, and that's why I'm hesitant on buying any newer sony dap because I know the battery will eventually diminish and sony won't do a ******* thing to help you

they make good products but their service is absolute trash

I got my 2009 nwz-x1050 battery replaced in 2014 in Hong Kong Sony centre, only cost hkd150 (usd20/ gbp16 ), not expensive, they took 24 hours to replace it

I noticed this already. It's annoying.

I'm currently looking at the Sony Walkman F-series. I might just import it from Japan. It has hi-res audio capabilities AND hi-res screen, what do you know =)

Is there anyone here who has used both the F-series and ZX100? I'd like to know how the SQ measures up

I have used a nwz-f886, it's not as good in Spain quality as nw-zx100

Closer to nwz-a series

Does anyone use this DAP with the Sony PHA-3? Considering getting the ZX100 but I can get the new A30 for $200 less. I'm thinking the front panel controls on the ZX100 might be easier to use when strapped to the PHA-3.

the Japanese products are too expensive.

True, but unless a 3rd party option becomes available what can you do?

That remote- although handy if you own one of the brickweight WM-series- is a little bit ridiculous no? On the website they promote it to use it while your 'portable' media player is in your backpack lol

I could maybe benefit from a remote as I constantly skip/repeat tracks - it would save from wear and tear on the buttons and fumbling around in my pocket
