Logically so, yes. I remember they did have to face the Linux and PS4 problems ? Wasn’t much into gaming before

Update to 1.05.00 firmware. Not affect high gain and output power. wm1am2 Chilean version.

After months of thinking about it I've finally placed an order for a Japanese WM1AM2.

On my ZX300 I've spent a lot of time on the metadata to make it perfect so hopefully when I slot it into the WM1AM2 it'll all just work.

Also I'll try using the general android debloat script to improve performance and report back.

I plan to remove as much as I can including the play store and then I'll have pretty much use only Spotify (the only music service I use) and just update it manually.

I plan to use OLauncher for some minimalism.

Any other in-device recommendations or other apps?

Why would you want to remove the play store?

Just started using my new WM1AM2. 2 Questions so far:

1) I see I can't edit individual files or albums via mp3tag directly from the WM1AM2? Am I correct and is it because it's Android based? I could edit fine with WM1A/Z.

2) When I transfer files via Windows Explorer, they transfer fine but the window closes after the files transfer. Annoying to open the Walkman folder again every time I transfer another file/folder.

Extremely minor complaints and actually more of "Hmmmms" than complaints.

I find pulling out my 1tb micro sdcard and putting in an sdcard converter and placing into my laptop far quicker at transferring than USB cable to walkman. But don't see any reason why what you're trying to do shouldn't work.

DMPZ1 is really a player on its own, not a dock.
Taz is, while good, rather dated, and should be refreshed to get more money from us.

Yes, I understand that and that possibly the DMP was a one off, no idea if Sony will update the Tazzy. I'd probably be interested if they did and it had a balanced analogue input ad week as the usual digital ones...
