SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2

Also to note, I have been using this AP15 launcher for my WM1AM2 for months now. It is just a simple text based user interface to replace the standard android 11 icon based interface. It helps by not having the cpu and gpu to perform drawing of icons and other unnecessary(for music playback) UI elements like the Google search bar. Might even reduce power consumption and heat generation on Walkman and maybe cure cancer? Everything just feels even more fluid. I would recommend to give it a try to see if the super simple text interface suits your taste. So far it has never crash on me nor have I encountered any kind of bugs with it. Is it magical sounding to my ears too? Yup. Also simple keyboard app is a good app to replace gboard.

I prefer Niagara launcher for the DAP

Heads up to anyone living in/passing by Malaysia - in Sony Lalaport (Kuala Lumpur), there's a 20% discount of MSRP (but you need to buy a GSC cinema ticket, $5?).

Last checked, the price for 1ZM2, 1AM2 and ZX707 are USD $2.5K, $900, $600 respectively (rounded to nearest hundred).

Cherry on top is all models are volume uncapped. :)
Sony is now offering the Singapore power restricted model of ZX707 for SGD $1099(original price is $1219)
https://store.sony.com.sg/products/nw-zx707

WM1AM2 is still selling at its original price of SGD $ 1,939

You can buy almost two units of ZX707 for the price of one WM1AM2.

So make your judgment on value. But do remember Singapore version of the ZX707 is extremely power output restricted and does not have high gain that is available on other regions like Malaysia.
For those living in Singapore, can get 1AM2 from Shopee at SGD 1717, use some vouchers can get it down to around SGD 1600

absolutely. Since most of us use it offline anyway... security updates are not that important i think.

Any suggestions for wirelessly transferring files from Mac (M2) to 1ZM2 ? Android File Transfer does not work for me. Thanks!

A Gig is kinda big for just a security update 🤔

They always reflash the partitions with each update. They don't send just the "difference".

Is it just me, or do the upper mids have more atmosphere?

And the bass is tighter?

I just love how this sounds -whether anything has changed or not- on a constant basis ❤️
Seem to feel more airy now. Increase sense of height for DSEE. Live concert recordings feels more immersive from the increase in atmosphere.

I think they upped the mids. Everything sounds more correct and less grand. Like moving from the sixth row to the fourth (scientifically speaking). I don't like it. I have to relearn everything. Where's my sea of decay?

Just kidding, I'm liking this :)
