SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2

If it don’t matter then Sony won’t have made an audiophile microSD card.

We are not taking about computer I/O operation from a programmer perspective but from an electrical engineering standpoint. EMI/RFI interferences to the circuitry. MicroSD card still draws power at idle and still is physically and electrically connected to the Walkman’s battery and circuit board.
Sony stopped making these saying they are no longer necessary.

They have their culture behind it as well. Specially speaking, “honor” and “dignity”, forgotten words to many
Especially since Mr Hiroaki Sato, who is head in charge of creating the M2 Walkman is also the same head in charge who created the “snake oil” Sony microSD card

https://av.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/series/dal/691795.html

However , Mr. Sato, who has seen the sound quality of the Walkman, says that there are differences in the sound depending on the memory media.

It depends on the size you require, 1TB or above, it has to be micron I400
i can't even buy the I400 with 1tb
512gb = you can buy 1 at mouser
1tb = it has to be 120 ?!
plus minimum waiting time until q1 next year

Old doesn’t change the fact that Sony engineers observed changes to sound in their digital Walkman from different microSD cards. Try harder.
Yes, they observed that with cards and circuits 7+ years ago.

And because they no longer observe it, they say it doesn't matter and recommend using normal SD cards.

SD cards have improved and so have the circuits to access them.

Try harder

please quote the source where they say it doesn't matter. I would be really be interested to see the source.

you link shows i300 1tb:
MTSD032AQC6MS-1WT

they do't have the i400 1tb: MTSD1T0ANC8MS-1WT
I didn't check if that was the i400, my bad.

I400 is quite different from I300. I300 is based on 96layers QLC, while I400 is 176layers QLC. Quite a big jump in terms of manufacturing processes.

All this talk about SD cards is possibly going a little off topic for this thread, does anyone else agree?
we are coming close to it. but this time and so far, we have some harmony here. but indeed, you are right.

bottom line so far: good microsd cards improve our baby m1 / m2 i wanted to know where to get the i400 with 1tb (MTSD1T0ANC8MS-1WT) in europe.
