Do you know if the 1Z plays back MQA in USB DAC mode? As in Mac -> Tidal -> 1Z as DAC? Probably a question for the OG thread, but since we're discussing here...

No, from what I've noticed in the firmware, they thought about it, but they didn't implement it eventually, so 1A/Z only plays local MQA audio.

I ordered a ZM2 on the opening day of pre-orders in France, last delivery date communicated is April 30

Amazon Japan & Amazon UK still no imminent stock for UK, and Sony UK website none for the AM2 but they assure me they have the Z available for delivery and it has High Gain.

Seeing as its a 28 day, no quibble return policy, I've ordered one to test the bloody thing for the EU cap/High gain issue. Hope wife doesn't see the CC bill

Will see if delivery window holds true

Plus, my Hiby R5 Gen2 already arrived from Hiby in China to UK in 2 days and now at UK sorting centre already!

Soon as I ordered the 1ZM2 it showed out of stock! Maybe they only got the 1 for the UK

To your ears. To my ears, Sony Kimber sounds better when paired with DMP-Z1, but not so much with WM1Z (missing clarity and producing too much warmth)

Sony Australia’s stock ETA’s have changed from 26th April for both 1AM2 & 1ZM2, to 28th June for 1AM2 & 8th August for 1ZM2. Shame that it’s so delayed down here but I guess we would be one of the smaller markets so it’s not surprising…

I agreed, in fact, upgraded internal cables on DMP Z1 and WM1Z did a much better job… both of them have Kimber inside
