This makes it hard to choose between a step up in SQ to the ZX100 or the improved functions/features of the A30.
I would benefit greatly from the side buttons, playlist feature and screen off.

Took sony 10 YEARS to do a proper OS but finally did it

, sight, now i see my zx100 with a face of UFFFFF obsolete hardware  and os

Gosh how quickly tech progresses and makes older stuff obsolete in less than a  year at times

No, direct mode in the WM1 series means NO DSPs (no EQ, no DSEE, no audio+ etc)

wait... so you can't disable ClearAudio or whatever? or is this just a setting that lets you quickly disable everything?

Well the Taiwan Sony Site is selling the A35 for NT$6,490 which translate to about US$204 so that beats your Malaysian price by $10    :)

Why would you want to do that?

The A30 series is already listed on the Sony Singapore site so chances are you will get it right about the same time as the rest of Asia.

I personally would not order an oversea models unless either it is not available to me locally or I'm saving big bucks by doing so because local Sony most likely will not honor the warranty on overseas models.

I might be wrong but at least that's how it is with Sony US last time I checked

I don't understand why they named this player A30, when it looks nothing compared to the A10 or A20.
They should have given this player a whole new model number and kept the A30 as like the A10 and A20.
I like the design and slim factor for A10/20 but this A30 looks nowhere near them:weary:

Perhpas the A series (once considered flagship) is the new entry level player from sony (think A&K Jr) and the WM1 series is the advanced ones. aside from that if you see the series is englobed in the H-EAR moniker and now that changed to H.EAR X.... kind reminds me of walkman X back in 2009

Been lurking the forum for a little while now and plan to buy the A30 once its available (Just realised the drop in sound I have noticed comes from using Phones as my primary music gear).

How would it be best to order the device to ship to Europe (Spain or the UK)?

I do have a good friend who lives in Singapore, but with hassle I would have to make him go through, if its easier I would rather sort myself.

Thanks :)

I would just wait for it to be available in Asia and contact places like http://www.accessoryjack.com/ or go on ebay to find one.

Once they are available in Asia, all the grey market sellers will have them in stock in short order.

For pricing (local street price) information, you can go to http://kakaku.com/item/J0000021797/ (for Japan) and http://www.price.com.hk/ (for Hong Kong).

Hope that helped.
