You don't install rockbox or anything - you just change the region of the firmware, so that the EU volume cap is removed. it takes a couple of minutes and you get about 20% more output power

I saw someone commenting about the official silicone case and that it is a lint magnet.
Personally I use this one - it's a hard case and feels nice in the hand

I have the same (or very similar) - with a matte screen protector it's just perfect. (Matte, so that it won't have fingerprints all over)

Hi,
I bought this player some 3-4mths ago, and ever since has clocked some amount of listening. It was a good player nevertheless.

A challenge comes to me now, when I received the udac5 for my laptop, and every time I am away from laptop, using this Dap, listening to it, feels like something missing.

So I'm thinking of getting an external amp. Do u think this will work well? If any of u have an idea of an amp that works well with this Dap, please share as well.

Cheers. Currently I'm using this Dap with 1more triple drive during travels/sleeping, same as the udac5 when I'm working in front of the laptop (at the worksite).

I have a totally different setup at home, and not really thinking of getting any other iem at this point.

But if I can get the dap to work with an amp, say xduoo xd-05 for an example, I can also use the amp on my xperia z5p. Do u know if this a35 works well with any amps?

well, you can grab something like the sony NWH-10 with another usb cable coz as far as I can see the udac only has usb-in. I guess it should work as a dac/amp with the sony if it works with your phone

I'm planning to buy the Fiio L27 for line-out use. Superb sound, warm and airy with Fiio F5 and XBA-N1AP.

I am using it with my old Fiio E17k 2 with 200 mW@32Ω. Decent pairing.
