SONY NW-A30 SERIES

Yeaaahhh... but I can buy a replacement Lightning cable just about anywhere (even at a kiosk at the airport).

Try to find a WM-Port to Micro-USB cable for connecting my Sony Walkman to my Sony PHA-3 DAC/amp. Spoiler alert: Sony doesn't make one that is longer than the really short piggy-back cable for stacking your Walkman on the amp. Oh, and try to buy a replacement cable set for your PHA-3.
You could always use the WMP-NWM10 adapter and add a regular micro-USB cable of your choice.

Any early indications of the differences between this and the coming A40?

Looks like they discontinued A10/20 series too?
Too bad, I really like the form & buttons... might have to buy a spare before they vanish.
Yeah. I vaguely recall seeing DAPs from the A10/20 series on sale in the local Sony stores up to a few months ago. I guess with the introduction of the A40, they've discontinued the A10/20.

George, you can check out Sony Singapore's website. Apparently, they already have the A40 stocked and ready for sale. You can use the "Comparison" tool to differentiate the 2 models. :)

Btw, the A40 is even cheaper than the A30.
Thanks, Tim.

A40 cheaper ... weird. Sony knows how to reward loyal customers

Hmm. The A40. That's interesting and annoying as I've started to seriously look at the A35, though the A40 hasn't shown up on the Sony UK website yet. Anyway could do with some help. While I've been looking at the A35 i came across a negative 1-star review on Amazon. While I generally ignore these reviews as I never know if they simply gave it a negative review because they did not know What they were doing with the product, part of the review interested me. I quote

"You can ONLY charge the Walkman via the included USB/PC cable. Other chargers will damage the device due to incompatible charging speed-rates. SanDisk SD cards are temperamental with the device. I had to seek a refund. Though this is not SanDisk's fault. Sony advise to use ONLY a Sony SD card because others will glitch-out. Yet the suitable Sony SD cards are not available! This is quite ridiculous and infuriating."

Q1 - Does anyone know if this is true about the charging cable speedrates and the potential damage to the device. If it's a cable I can easily source it's not that too much of a problem but I have never heard this before but this is my first Sony MP3 player.

Q2 - Are Sandisk cards tempremental with the machine?. Has anyone had any problems?

Thank You Very Much For Your Time
