at that price.. I don't think it can be real. The profile looks pretty fishy too. If the person was in Europe, I'd trust them more.

were there imitaded v6 in the marked already?
if i'd be in the position to fake phones i would'nt go for the v6 but rather would try on a more recent product.

was faking products "common" in the 80s and 90s?
hmm
the price and the crap pics look suspecting to me.

it's a little tricky to buy a v6 in germany.
amazon.com wont ship this item, the usual german online vendors won't have it in stock.
however i found one on ebay shipped from austria (and have bought it even before starting this thread).

i'm nevertheless curious on the chinese offer.

Usually if it's from China it's fake.

thats quite a bold statement, imho.

well, i haven't trusted this offer anyway - but i can't explain to me why one would fake the v6 of all things. and i'm not shure if it's fake.
they offer refund if i recall correctly. i'd probably buy one just for trying if it wouldnt be for the long (and most likely expensive) shipment the way back.

yeah, peetrain, put that way i came to think about it the same way. However, at first i thougth that their not expensive any way, why would one want to fake them. but yes,
the v6 are well known for a long time, they are pretty "famous" ...
thanks for your posting.

in the meantime my V6 from austria arrived, and i found a lot of usefull information on the web:

first: my phones i ordered from austria (eBay) are counterfeit. Luckily i paid via PayPal and i'm able to use their buyers protection.

for people interested in details:

comparison betweend two v6, presumably between an original and a fake sony:

details of a fake (needs registration):

this actually is a very helpfull thread (and short): the first reply shows the sticker "for digital" on a presumably original device: the digital is made of regular little golden circles. the fake ones are irregular squares and some bars (looks exactly the same on my pair from austria).
in the last posting the vendor states that "In this case, [he] removed the listing because the copyright or trademark owner of this product reported that they believe the item may not be authentic."

i'll probably load pictures from my device on my webspace or some other place.
